Shield spell duration

Is it just me or does this spell not really last 60 seconds per level? It seems like its duration is maybe half that.

We've modified a number of buffs so that casters can't stack as insane AC forever.

I can see that, since it's a deflection AC instead of a shield AC there is probably more need to control it. Perhaps a new TLK entry should be made for the spell with the correct duration and description?

Perhaps we should consider the fact that Fighters on Sundren have the two AC boosting feats (+2 AC), plus the new Armor Mastery (potential +5 AC?) which combined with good equipment makes their AC better than a caster, and are undispellable. The fact they are undispellable is a big deal....

I am a 20th level caster, but when I run into areas with creatures that give even a modicum of XP, my buffs are 50-75% gone in round 1 (I am not complaining about this, its a neat way to balance casters!). My point is that Shield being 1 min/level is not even slightly overpowered anymore.

Add to that the new rest changes and those few nerfed spells seriously need their Pnp durations back!

I'm not sure if this is hyperbole or I'm just not getting it. How are your buffs gone?

I think he is referring to getting Dispelled. It can really mess up an Eldritch Knight's day.

Which area has a first encounter that dispels 50-75% of a casters' buffs?

(Not trying to come off as agressive, but as far as dungeon balancing if this is happening I'd like to know where.)

I think the last of these were in Ixis, and I removed them a day or two ago pending server update.

Yeah I didn't realize how crazy that place was. I've never gone in it as a player due to the messed up tile set. Tested it out and got swarmed by level-drain onhit mobs.

Nope I mean the Abysmal Corrupter dudes in Argyle. I don't know what level they are but dispel me with ease. They give 48xp, so that would make them what level 19? 20?

Anyway like I said it's not a bad thing. But this and Whurest seem the only two places I can get xp now and I'm guessing Whurest dispels even tougher being an epic CR area

Hmm never had a problem with shields duration as I always just persist it and move on with buffing and shield is supposed to be a "shield" armor bonus cast it then equip a shield and see if your ac changes.

Shield was changed it is AC (Deflection) and capped at +4
