The old “Evil noble on the run from a Terrible Crime who finds humility, purpose, love and ultimately redemption in serving another fallen noble house and a cause greater than himself” ploy...

He's Sembian, so no chance of House Mannerheim cropping up as an official house. Although he was supposed to be banging a minor member of the Veritas houshold, so he might find a route back into political meddling that way.

I did actually get interested in this after reading the entire Game of Thrones books. A little convoluted at times, and people seem far more flexible with their loyalties than most, but overall an excellent read.

The last book was horrible. I think Martin is just making crap up now to fill books. The first three were awesome.

Also remember, while the houses may have certain leanings, it's hardly dead set into alignments. Any alignment can easily fit into any house.

Yeah, there are a lot of heraldry sites online that can do simple heraldry like that with presets for divisions and images. GIMP is a full on graphics editing software, so it takes a lot of practice to get good at it (I do not have a lot of practice). I'll take another stab at it and see if I can't get something more like what you're looking for.

The black and white division that you have makes it difficult for the white star to stand out on the top of the shield, that was why I made the whole shield black. How about making the top half a night-sky dark-purple/blue color? And do you want the dragon breathing flame? It seems appropriate, considering the house motto.

That was just the nearest example of the type of dragon I was envisioning, haha. I kind of want the crests to be in that old style heraldry. But yeah, I was thinking of a full black crest with a star similar to this over the top of the dragon:

Ok, since you like that one - I'll try to use that same heraldry building site to get base images to work with and touch them up as needed. I'll keep submitting them on this thread.
