Hi folks,
Over the course of my work as a DM, I've noticed that some of our customs on Sundren are a little confusing to new players. Unfortunately, that confusion often gets put in a tell from a new player going, essentially: Double-you-tee-eff, mayte? ^_^
These tells, and I don't honestly care if they might be a little bit harshly worded when they come from a confused new player, are frequently met with sharp comebacks and almost derision, escalating a matter far beyond necessary.
Folks, please remember that some actions startle new players. Toggling someone hostile (especially as a group) startles, and provokes a knee-yerk reaction. PvP out of the blue is shocking, particularly if your character is swiftly dispatched.
It is -your- duty as veteran players to provide a pleasant environment to people, even if you play evils. A simple explanation that:
Will go a long way. If you receive a tell from someone that seems piqued? I'm asking you to stay calm and explain your actions kindly.
We're supposed to make this a pleasant place together, not one where a question (even if sharply asked) is responded to with derision.
Thank you,
- Chip.

We toggle everyone hostile. We're a roving bad of evil criminals, so if you see us, make sure you get out of the way, since we'll attack. Welcome to Sundren, btw! ^_^
