It looks like I will have to start a new character, my own fault, of course. I'm rather hesitant about that and here are the reasons.
For the last few months (since about last November) I have been finding it extremely difficult to join parties. There are several reasons for this. I tend to play at times when the server is not heavily populated. As well, my gaming time is limited and many times I could find people but after negotiation to eventually form a party, there was not have enough time to actually go and do things. Limited playing time also meant that I watched many of those whom I initially adventured with rise to the point where our levels no longer matched well. That left me relying on the XP trickle.
Early on, I was able to get into parties, but since I got to about level 9 I found it difficult to find parties of a suitable level. I was usually too high for those I could find, but sometimes I was too low. Or I could join a party who's level was so high I got no XP, which doesn't help my character develop. I could either sit at a campfire waiting for people to show up, metagame to try and find people or try soloing, and there were not too many places I could effectively do that.
I have enjoyed Sundren, except for these issues, so I don't want to pack things in, but it's also difficult to contemplate starting a new character if the difficulties persist. It was a long, slow process getting to L12 and I was trying a build (Arcane Trickster) that I don't think really comes together until about level 13 or 14.
I don't want to effectively have to do all my character development below level 11. Nor do I want to play a character who spends all their time sitting around talking to people.
Does anyone have suggestions?
Cheers,
Dave
