I have always figured fighter bard as a marshal combo (Loved that class) but as Kaizen said a Samurai is the only way to cut it really: Samurai has all the required class focus and with a few levels of bard and maybe some (mwahaha) blackguard levels you would have youself a fine commander!

*edit* What biohazard said about stereotypes is right. They are nice unless they make things dull in which case your character aught to have a flaw or two to tip the balance. a Depressed alcoholic inspiring marshal would be interesting to play n.b. Druids can be over the top or beautifully subtle with their divine magic - PLAY A DRUID!

I wholeheartedly and completely disagree. Nobody *ever* plays classes / races to fit their stereotype. I find doing so a refreshing change of pace.
I am death, come for thee. Surrender, and thy passage shall be... quicker.

Likewise. The challenge in playing a nonhuman should come in the form of playing to that race's traits. I would love an aloof, patient elf or a good-natured halfling. Exceptions are great when done well, but being more true to form does more to enhance the game world.

Well Like I said stereotypes can be dull. If they are spice them up, if they arnt you can keep with your perfect lawfull good paladin and play him as an escaped mental patient... cause seriously, who is lawfull good here?

            +1

Still waiting on that appropriately played elf character. Three years of NWN and I ain't seen one.
Running across the mountains, attacking with an oversized scalpel, cometh Helga Great-Wyrm! And she gives a mighty bellow:
"Brace yourself, oh human speck of dust! You are made of meat and I am very hungry!"
