The rules you've quoted are in the right. I know there was some misunderstanding in the past over this issue.

Signuses do not allow memory retention in any way. All they do is offer a free raise without xp or gold penalties. Nothing more.

I think the confusion may stem from the circumstances where a Signus could be used to avoid permadeath situations.

I was under the impression that the signus does retain your memory in any non-PvP death. If this is not true any more then wiki needs to be updated under the death penalty section as it currently states:

"Anyone who uses a signus to resurrect from a non-PVP death can retain their IC memory of the event. This will enable you to remember where you and your party died, should there be a total party wipeout (TPK)."

After the game, the king and the pawn go into the same box.

Seems to me then that you can not use a Signus to retain memory of a PvP death, but can use it to retain memory of an NPC death.

This then brings up a sticky situation however where you are fighting a PC, then an NPC kills you.

I've been told by different DM's that that counts as an NPC death and I need a player to IC'ly rez me, as well as being told that it's a bug and I can get a DM rez.

*knocks you out, rps dragging you to Mossdale, runs away while giggling madly*

Seems like any situation in which a PC dies as a result of another PC's involvement should be treated as CvC.
