And good luck with any application if you're not one of the few lucky ones, who will lovingly follow everything the DM PC's do.

Nothing you can impose will scare me away from this awesome world.

You think you had it bad? Well, on my last server we had it tough. We used to have to get up out of the shoebox at twelve o'clock at night, and LICK the road clean with our tongues. We had half a handful of freezing cold gravel, worked twenty-four hours a day at the mill for fourpence every six years, and when we got home, our Dad would slice us in two with a bread knife.

Root may only play Goth/Emo characters that are required to commit suicide by level 4.

... I can get more creative if you're not scared yet.

Not scared. And hell, my character isn't emo. She's nice to people when they don't routinely fire lightning bolts at her.

*busts out his comic-relief 8-wis Wizard character, and if casters are banned, then his Dwarf Fighter one who is like Emmet Brown from Back to the Future*

Heck, most my folks are comic relief.
Running across the mountains, attacking with an oversized scalpel, cometh Helga Great-Wyrm! And she gives a mighty bellow:
"Brace yourself, oh human speck of dust! You are made of meat and I am very hungry!"

We used to DREAM of a shoe box! Every day, 30 minutes before we went to bed we'd be woken up and had to work 26 hours a day and we had to pay the boss for the privilege of working! And if you tell that to the young people today, they won't believe you!

Becky Dragonhin - Sword of the Loyal Fury, Knight of the Triad... the only Good hin in Sundren???

Perry Turnipfodder - aspiring talent, happy chronicler.

Man what're the chances that the server breaks down on "Free +6 Armor Day." Shucks guys, I guess you'll have to wait for the next one.

You wimps! We didn't even get to sleep on my last server! Dreams were for the weak. Casters had to fill out an application to rest to get their spells back, fighter types had to fill one out to buy a weapon or any armor made from metal, and commoners would walk by with walking sticks putting any unruly adventurers in their place.

It's a bug in the toolset. All the TRX files are claiming they need updating or something like that. I've had this happen to me before. I may make a 3rd party tool for this thing to do the updates because this bug is whaaaack.

I came from a server that was subsidized by government bureaucracy and required applications for the application forms, submitted in blue pen via traditional mail. Experience points took six monthes to get approved, per point, due to the needless back logging as each one required meticulous eight paragraph minimum cataloguing prior to approval.

Bringing up prestige classes would get you exiled to a gulag or brought into a dark empty yet sterile room with nothing but a drainage grate in the center where they would shoot you for merely hinting at the monumental amount of paperwork involved in such a task.

BAH.. You guys got nothin. A previous server I was on You were kept prisoner in this god awful hole of a keep by tryrants. Rumors said they were vampires and we were just cattled food. Shar kept that secret veiled from us though.

If you even wanted water you had to find your own container to put it in. Which meant having to escape through the sewers undetected with but the rags on our backs. This only accomplished having to dodge our way through plagued victims who had suffered a death that wasnt far from soon being your own. all in the o hopes of finding a jar. All this likely meant having to beat some gnoll and company over the head with little better then a twig of a stick. Our hope that some rotted out cabin in a swamp had left overs that had not yet been pillaged.

If one did manage to find anything of worth pray it was worth trading for that small jar or food. By the end of the day one was so tired for such little gain you could actually fall asleep and die of thirst or hunger before you woke up again.

                        NECROSIS FTW

We have any ETA on server playability returning?

Gonna actually have to *gasp* do the costuming stuff I really should have done last weekend if it doesn't come up soon :P

Alright, I'll try to give you guys an idea of what the problem is.

Essentially every map is a .trx file for you guys to download. Cool, no problem. Toolset, when you tell it to, "Stages" these files and we upload them to web. Cool, no problem.

The problem is there can be a BUG in the staging tool so that it doesn't detect changes right, and you gotta go through loops to get it to stage what you want in order to update the site with the CORRECT lzma (Compressed) file. Otherwise signatures don't match and the stupid server thinks you have the wrong file.

It's seriously buggy. It's on my todo list to write my own tool for the process that doesn't have these bugs.

So basically the ETA can be 20 minutes or hours, depending on how many hoops we have to jump through.
