Advanatages of being Evil?

I haven't had a lot to say about the evil thing lately, and admittedly I haven't put a lot of thought into this, so forgive me if it sounds less then my usual quality...but I'm tired of there being no room for PC monsters in Sundren.
Boogeyman evil doesn't stand a chance because by virtue of the nature of Sundren, you can't do a lot of things solo and that type of evil doesn't really thrive in the group dynamic.
Examples would be the Chaotic Evil Barbarian hermit that has staked a claim in the Sharahan Hills (maybe accrued some positive rep with the Spittlefist via fearsome tactics or sheer appreciation for his anti-intruder practices) and slaughters the heroes that come to collect ear bounties, Banedead skulls, or Goblin Chieftan heads. Maybe kidnaps an Exigo employee, now and again (with DM assistance) for flavor. Or how about the twisted, vermin-centric Druid that takes up residence in the Sundren City sewers, dragging down hapless citizens or Legion and striking out against those who come to clear the storm-tunnels of bat or Slitherscale infestations.
Things like that would be very interesting in my opinion. And I know there's quite a few players here that could pull it off and make it worthwhile.

Personally, I find evil is its own reward. Think not what Sundren can do for you, but what you can do for Sundren! Where would all these sweeter than sugar, purer than white losers do without us evil bastards to wail on? I've played several evil characters, and despite their being repeatedly killed and generally not actually achieving anything important, they provide fun for the other players as much as they provide fun for me. Everybody loves a villain, especially one with the balls to stand in the middle of a group of Tormites and tell them all their mothers are Bane's whores.
Ah, the good old days...Lorlen Locke: "Amazing how the righteous commit acts of tyranny and terror almost as beautiful as our own under their banner of "good". We merely call a spade a spade."

There are a few who already do things like this, to my delight. I even took a stab at being such a villain with Will before retirement. Perhaps it could be taken further like you suggested, however. I always wanted to be a goblin activist. Or even witness someone else being a goblin activist.Originally posted by Jai_V View PostI haven't had a lot to say about the evil thing lately, and admittedly I haven't put a lot of thought into this, so forgive me if it sounds less then my usual quality...but I'm tired of there being no room for PC monsters in Sundren.

Being evil it doesnt mean the charactor has absulotely no morals right? An evil charactor might be unwilling to kill innocents to get his way, not just because he might get in trouble for it, but because he thinks its wrong?A charactor who is utterly ruthless when he is attacked or towards his enemies who where first hostile towards him, could this be an evil charactor? Someone who would use choking powder when hes attacked to knock out his enemies then slit their throats while they are knocked out to so as to stop them coming after him later,or a wizard or cleric who uses hold stun spell ect then finishes off the enemy. but wouldnt sell out a lot of innocent people for money or even to maybe save himself. Is it possible to play an evil charactor like this? or is there only room for the diabolical evil type? kills the heroes who come to collect ears and heads? collecting the heads and ears of sentient creatures for money that sounds kind of evil to me in a way. The goblins prob would veiw the barberian as being a hero.

I think there should be mixture of the evil archtypes.
Admittedly, Kaizen was (ridiculously) over the top, but when every 'evil' person on the server is a sneaky, backstabbing assassin who you never see, unless they're walking around town ... then it's just chasing shadows. That's all fun, but not when every evil person is doing it. That was one of the main reasons why I made Kaizen.
There are a lot of fun evil characters on the server who add depth and aren't 'sneaky evil' and 'outrageous evil' .... examples that come to mind are eco terrorist hippie Sammal Sulfur, and necrophilliac Neffriel Brom.
Of course, you take a major RP hit when you're evil and there are no DM's on (ask Mathell ... no one talks to him anymore) but the rewards are there.Originally posted by ThePaganKingSo, the roguethree bootlickers strike again.

I have two Evils toons that I play and I am always the sweet nice young lady. My one toon will befriend you and then turn around and stab you in the back and steal your gold. My other toon though...she would rather just kill you as to make friends with you. She has no friends and doesn't want any friends. As far as she is concerned friends are only people that will soon become enemies so why wait. I never used to like playing Evil cause I didn't really know how...but my Evil toons are a reflection of me in some ways.

Yodglum: May Kossuth's flame light your way and burn those in it!
Ash: Dusty old miner of still looking for the "mother load" on Exigo's stag
Shaving kittens: not an official sport, but fun just the same

My dwarf Hraligar is evil, but not overtly so. He's greedy, and will crush anybody's skull if it suits him, sure, but the majority of his evil-ness comes from his absolute disregard for non-dwarven life.
I think many people forget that evil people aren't necessarily dedicated to evil. Instead, most evil people are dedicated to themselves before others.
By the way, hello Sundren! I love the server so far.Sago Trumperstomper--Halfling Bandit (retired)
