I've played morally questionable characters before, but never outright evil. However, it's been my experience (recently anyway) that playing a role of pacifistic good has been the most difficult and frustrating role i've ever attempted.

I find the challenge and conflict satisfying, though, and if things were easy it would quickly grow boring. The fun comes in learning how to deal with the possibility that your character will be attacked on sight, and how you will go about avoiding that if you want. It takes subtlety and thought, and we can't always expect characters or even players to make concessions. It's all on you.

There are some pretty deluded neutral and even good people out there that will travel with a well thought out evil char.... even one that turns into trolls and eats his prey (to power the regeneration of the form of course only!!). He just has to remember not to tell anyone that he's going to burn down everything that they hold dear one day....
Bree - Bookkeeper and diplomat of Exigo.

Becky Dragonhin - Sword of the Loyal Fury, Knight of the Triad... the only Good hin in Sundren???
      Cybil Gelley (Retired)
Perry Turnipfodder - aspiring talent, happy chronicler.

Of course! It's a fairly common trait amongst druids in that shape - I consider it the more socially acceptable form of cannibalism (The less socially acceptable end being the brain eating of the Ilithid form).

Someone needs to make a vegetarian druid - refuse to use all wildshapes with a bite attack, unless you're fighting an ent/mycanoid/shambling mound.

I have been contemplating a mute Sorcerer and a blind AA. Not sure how I would pull off the AA; Zen Archery can only go so far.
Elandra: A former Red Blade, now roams the wilderness with the Lone wolf as her guide
Alexandra: Ever faithful (just shy of a Zealot)
Yodglum: May Kossuth's flame light your way and burn those in it!
Ash: Dusty old miner of still looking for the "mother load" on Exigo's stag

Blind characters are a bit Nngh.
As someone else once said - Daredevil's super power is that he isn't blind.

Yes, and you'd be the fourth or fifth active blind character on the server

I totally agree, besides, you can always RP like getting a common item like a common sword or a common heavy shiled, something that wouldn't be hard to get back and still you would have RPed it well. Though I never took anything from anyone despite the rule, and probably won't.

Ugh...please...no more blind characters wandering around as if they could see.

Maniacal and overt evil will be tough to play. You go around spouting off how you plan to kill all the good and/or innocents around you and bathe in their blood while dancing a jig by the light of a full moon...expect to get whooped on and arrested.

Now...if you are polite and don't make any overt statements in questionable company...maybe even help out the good guys on menial tasks every once in a while...get in good with them, that's the kind of evil that gets things done. The old adage of "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer" works great for intelligent and covert evil. I have 2 characters that are pretty darned evil. They walk around and no one ever bothers them. Now, the Master of Shrouds doesn't go around with a couple rotting bone heads when he thinks some do-gooder will see them. I've even attacked and destroyed my summon once when I caught glimpse of a Legion member. Acceptable losses to keep up appearances. My other evil dude is so polite, he has even worked alongside at least one Blade (or maybe a Legion member...been a while) without suspicion. If it wasn't for Paladins running around seeing the evil on toons, many evil ones would never be found out...until it's too late.

Funny thing is, the character I play that is always called "evil" is actually Lawful Neutral (with some leanings towards good...but not much...honor makes you do some things slightly outside your usual ethos). Hells...most people think my Shadowbane Stalker of Kelemvor is some kind of Blackguard (even had a DM think so until he checked him out). People like to make assumptions based on apprearance (much like the real world). You can be evil as a pair of demons fornicating in the bowels of a devil with no troubles running around...as long as you don't "look" evil .

HA! (if its who I'm thinking of) I remember thinking "wow, what an awesome looking Blackguard! huh...whys he being all nice, and smiting evil an' shit?!" What a let down...i love the classical maniacal gloating monologue spewing evil

One thing that often disturbs me, apart from people who dress like Ming the Merciless to go to the garden centre - but that's a different story, is the total awareness of their own alignment that PCs seem to have.

It's depressing to see a bunch of villains that look to have rolled out of some cheap burlesque; twirling moustaches, monologuing and stroking white cats. I sometimes get the impression that if Sundren was to ever develop a rail system it'd never run on time due to maidens tied to the track.

(admittedly this is rare - I just felt a semi-rant was in order)

heh, look at it this way, buddy: if you hadnt used thirty potions and scrolls, you'd have been the one who ended up face-down. how's that for an advantage? :P

I have a villain and he has a mustache and he is fantastic! I'm currently looking for maidens to tie to the tracks, preferably the girlfriend of a blind guy with a heart of gold. If you know any, please let me know. Thanks, gp.

                                See, that's fine.

That's Ming in his natural environment - He's happy! He's got a palace and a ray gun. Just look at the satisfaction on his Mingy features.

Now picture him in the bedding plants section of a large garden center, maybe he's a bit shorter, and slightly fatter. But he's got the same beard/nohair combination. He's wearing slightly cheaper, maybe homemade, Ming clothes, he's got his Ming makeup on. He's as close to Ming as he can get, and he's in a garden center, choosing bedding plants.

That was the highlight of my Bankholiday weekend.

                                Edit:
I choked. Thanks for that Greypawn!

I bet he's only grown that so he can have an excuse for sitting in the corner of a nightclub watching everyone else dance while he plays with his nipples.
