How about if I dump a body of a pc from ANOTHER server?

Has that ever been an issue?

I'll be the first to point out the obvious issue. DEAD BODIES EVERYWHERE!

Second issue: Pick a body up and log? It'll respawn, duplicating bodies.

My idea was to write SUNDREN all in bodies, but people felt it would take too long/too many bodies.

Allow me to be the first to congratulate you for having to much time on your hands :P

            Edit:

Zub, is that a conformable issue? If so, can you write up a bug report. Thanks.

I made a few more changes.

              Bugs

              - Should have the duplication bug fixed.
              - All those bodies in the SOS when I logged in were bugged, because I missed a spot in code for copying the information once a body was dropped. This is fixed.
              - There was a SQL syntax bug in the login death message. I fixed this as well, so people will get the message correctly. (I modified a player manually during a test and it worked as expected). They still get ressed, it's just the message didn't popup on login.

              New Feature

              - Bodies over a month old will be skeletal now instead of fleshy corpses. This was requested by a do-gooder who wanted to prioritize bodies that were still in play. It can also help DMs if they decide to clean up a few bodies in some areas.

              - Bodies have a description now, but I can't get the actual player's description so it will only say a generic message for ones created while someone was offline.

As for dead bodies everywhere. Seems Sharahan hills was only place with a bunch. Which they used to spell SOS I suspected it would be. Even the caves didn't have many.

Sundren Sewers had a bunch according to EndsBeginning, there were at least 10 by the campfire in the Exigo trade camp but we used those for the SOS
I think there's bound to be one here and there, especially by bosses and by spawns easily missed, such as when you might enter the trigger from the wrong direction, spawn something way behind you and keep running. You know, everywhere someone die and just thought "Wel this is the worst character I've ever made, I'm logging off!"

Now people will be more aware of death. I actually like that there's bodies in places. It's almost like a warning sign. I saw a body on a trap, and two at a boss. It's kind of a nice marker.

Personally I think it's best to wait a few weeks to see how things turn out. If there are severe problems with the death changes, we should see them pop up fairly quickly.

EDIT: By the way, there's the opposite side of corpse moving. A good Samaritan, perhaps one with bull's strength or polymorph, could relocate bodies to a more accessible location.

If there's a whole bunch of bodies laying around that's bugging you, here's an awesome idea - raise them! Take them all to the temple for a ressurrection amnesty XD

Still no advances on my perma-death request?

Used to do this all the time on one of the old servers I played on. It was always a bit creepy to walk in to buy healing stuff and see corpses strewn all about the temple waiting friends to raise them. My Kelemvorite will probably be picking up various bodies and dropping them off for last rites at the temple in Sestra. Most of my others...probably not so much.

Did not run into any dead bodies in the caves or Virdale last night while running around. Didn't see any in the hills on the way to the caves, either, for that matter. Must have started popping up after 8 or 9 central last night.

LOVE the idea of remains going skeletal after a while. No use hauling back the corpse of someone that is never gonna log in again.

I do this alot. And I also do it for my enemies. Maybe I'm just a glutton for punishment, but I tend to like having enemies alive and willing to cause conflict with me. Otherwise I get bored hanging out at the camp fire with you guys
