I do not know how possible or impossible will be, so this suggestion is made purely of the idea that it is in fact possible, granted lots of work involved.
Lately I just found out that the in game money is only in stags (I had previously though each of my gold pieces was simply an iron.) Now for my suggestion.
Making an item for in game money in place of the NwN 2 currency. Here is how.
Pros
-The gold number in your inventory will always remain at 0 as it is never used anymore.
-The item will be a stackable up to an infinite amount, however there is a weight added to prevent those from hauling around too much coin. Also, a certain type of coin could weigh a great deal more than the other. (I'm not talking full pounds here. If someone is carrying a bunch of coins that weigh not even half a pound each, it builds up.)
-A script will be added similar to the gold script, so you can buy items using this new item.
-A script will be added to allow conversion and splitting of money. For example. If you gain 1000 irons, you have the option of converting it to 100 silvers, which gives you the option to convert to 10 stags, which gives you the option to convert to 1 crown. The reverse going for splitting the money.
-Instead of taking up numbers in your "money counter" in your inventory, it will take up a slot in your inventory.
If this worked, I would love to see it. Not only would it adhere to Sundren's currency topic, but it would add a great deal of immersion as well.
Cons
Again, this is all assuming that Staff has the time and dedication to make this work. The scripting would be advanced, and it would take an entire revamp to take out gold rewards from quests and replace them, delete all the gold in the server (player's too, and this would mean that players would have to send DM requests to replace x gold with x irons, which could create lots of stress), Make merchants scripted to take the item from inventory instead of coin, Make items have a value in inventory slot items instead of coin.
Think about it. Honestly. Take in all of the possibilities as well as the things that could cause trouble. I do believe the sundren team is capable of this and much more. I'll be waiting <3
