There's already spots for basically every other metal in the crafting system with the exception of Adamantine (available from whurest drops) and Gold (not available at all). It'd be nice to see either of those go back in, though the Mirakus Mines are RPly Sundrite mines, an ore that is (in our crafting system) basically worthless and already represented in at least 2 veins I can think of.
Sundrite Steel, a cheap alloy of Sundrite and iron, is the only thing you can craft without a DM. Pure Sundrite, especially refined, is considered extremely valuable and has several properties such as magic resistance and possibly amplification. I recall it being stated that the Icewind Dale region was going to have a gold mine. Perhaps it would be better to move some of the Sundrite veins from existing areas, replace them with other metals, and place the Sundrite in Mirakus.
Icewind Dale is going to have a multi-level gold mine that will also be a dungeon. As it will be one of the most remote dungeons in Sundren expect it to be appropriately difficult/rewarding.
Pure Sundrite is supposed to be rare and valuable yes; poorly reflected by the current crafting system. The Sundrite mine was always intended to be larger so I would expect Sundrite would become more of a minable resource when we have a few more levels to that dungeon (with the rarity of Sundrite doing treks between the Drunken Dragon and the dungeon should not be a walk in the park so I'd like the dungeon to be deeper).
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

I agree - moving the Sundrite vein from the spittlefist caves would be a good idea since the DC to mine that vein is a touch high for the level of characters that venture into the caves as I recall. (I once got in trouble with a DM for being in those caves at too high a level, until I explained the only reason I was smacking the gobbos was to get to the sundrite vein.) Maybe place another iron vein or even a cold iron vein in the caves were the Sundrite vein currently resides. (is cold iron lower DC than Sundrite? I don't recall)

I suggest requirement of mining permits to take ore out of the Mirakus mines!
Its corporate property after all, it would be like walking into a jellybean factory and expecting to have permission to walk out with sack of candy for free.
[. . .]
Only the factory is filled with agressive magic-resistant mutants and the candy slowly gives you cancer and stuff.
Anyhow, idea++ to the plans of more better arranged mineral veins!

Unfortunate truths: Intention: [DM > Crafting > Faction Store > Drop > Regular Store]
Reality: [DM > Faction Store > Drop > Regular Store> Crafting]
How about an adamantine vein somewhere in Whurest? It is a deep, dwarven excavation that is already frought with peril. I would prefer a mining node near the forgemaster instead of a chance for him to drop them. 2 cents!
I can't slow down, I can't hold back though you know I wish I could. No there ain't no rest for the wicked until we close our eyes for good!

I need to try this. Anyone know of a Jellybean factory in the southern portion of the United States? Heck, ANY portion of the US will do.
