  • Increase Vouch points

    With banners now worth more, I think the vouches that PCs give should be increased a bit as well. My suggestion is a flat one point per thousand of reputation, meaning that max ranked PCs would give fifty points per vouch versus the thirty-six we give now.

    I'll second this idea.

                It's a good idea, but doesn't that decrease the points given by non-max capped rep players?

                I get about 7-8 from a particular someone right now, but that would cut it down to 3-4.

                  36 is pretty low, compared to banners and guardhouses. And also, you might only see that max-rep character once a week or fortnight since there's usually only one of them.

                    ((5!/3$-(4+3))^2-2)th!

                    I can count too!

                    Also, seeing as the earliest you can vouch is around 3000 rep (unless thats changed), it will be at least a standardized system. It's been my experience in the past that people who have only just got the ability to vouch only grant 1 rep, so either the system been modified since, or the system is inconsistent.
                    Either way:

                    [Edit]::SCIENCE!::
                    I have accumulated the following values, all data is anonymous and reputation values have been rounded down to the nearest thousand, because it appears to function as such.
                    1. 5k -> 2 rep*
                    2. 7k-> 7 rep
                    3. 8k -> 8 rep
                    4. 10k -> 5 rep*
                    5. 15k -> 13 rep
                    6. 23k -> 18 rep
                    7. 50k -> 36 rep

                    *-Character was vouching a character with more rep than them in the vouched faction. Discussion on the topic has come to the conclusion that with the current system, this results in halving the total rep gain, with any decimal being truncated.

                    Once revising to account for those two outliers, the following formulas seem apparent:
                    1. (5k/1000) = [5]; 5*0.5 = 2.5 ~ [2]
                    2. (7k/1000) = [7]
                    3. (8k/1000) = [8]
                    4. (10k/1000) = [10]; 10*0.5 = [5]

                      It would appear that up to ten-thousand rep, the formula is as proposed. Above that, the system seems to break down and require revision. Graphing points and testing slopes reveals a reasonable option, however:
                    5. ((15k/1000)-10)*(2/3)+10 = 13.333... ~ [13]
                    6. ((23k/1000)-10)*(2/3)+10 = 18.666... ~ [18]
                    7. ((50k/1000)-10)*(2/3)+10 = 36.666... ~ [36]

                    }
                    Basically, suggestion is to remove that inner if/else into a single line. Codeblock because I feel like describing sometihng waay too in depth

                    In result: The suggestion in the original post will result in a net increase in vouch-value for everyone with over 12-k rep, but will not change anything for anyone lower.

                          I can tell you for sure that someone with 5k rep gives more than 2. My character has 6.7k and gives in the ballpark of 5 now.

                          It was 5 last time I asked someone, but it's been a week or two since then.

                            someone with 5-k rep in the current system by my calculations give 5 rep to anyone with less rep than them, but will only give 2 rep to someone with a higher rep (Half of five is two and a half, rounded down is two). This was calculated into the math.

                            It is listed as it was collected and asterisked as aberrant in the data.
