Yesterday I went and had a play on another RP server as I was bored and there was no one online here.

Whilst there were several things that I disliked, I'll list the things I found quite decent.

    1) Darker Nights - Humans can't see two feet in front of their face, Elves can see just well enough to make out walls/doorways etc. I like this as it makes lanterns/light spells more useful, and makes more of a distinction between the different races

    2) Light spell doesn't make a globe - 'nuff said (yes I know about casting it in your inventory but I'm lazy and the targeting system in NWN2 sucks)

    3) Damaging spells buffed - seems like every server except ours does this? I wouldn't suggest buffing Magic Missile/Greater Fireburst/Isaac's Missiles/Wall of Fire as they would become too powerful, but everything else sorely needs it. +5 max dmg dice would be about perfect, not too big a bump for high level spells but would be noticeable for lower level spells.

    4) Mage armor doesn't stack with armor - I think someone told me this was impossible, but they have it so it must be possible

    5) Half Elves get the "Skilled" ability of humans (+1 skill points/level). While I don't think that was implemented yet, I noticed it listed in their development thread so they'll have it eventually

Yes, I realise my RP writing sucks. Just be thankful I keep it short

I know it does stack currently, I'm suggesting that it shouldn't, like in PnP ><

Sundren nights are already pretty dark in a lot of places. Let alone caves where you can't see a damn thing without a light.

Would be nice as low hanging fruit.

Speaking as someone who doesn't even have transmutation because lolconjurer, I support this. Nuking feels way too weak in comparison to buffing.

Yeah, everything has approximately 180% the HP it has in PnP, but the spells all do the same damage. So you need twice as many spells to kill something

Which tips the balance a fair way towards the "buff, polymorph and blitz" end of the scale unfortunately.

Always a problem when you design a game that is suppose to only have a small amount of encounters, and make it a persistent world. High HP low AC seems the general go-to in nwn for balancing.

              2) could be solved if mages use that high intelligence score to put it on an item instead of a glowing ball over peoples heads... just saying

Becky Dragonhin - Sword of the Loyal Fury, Knight of the Triad... the only Good hin in Sundren???

The reason nukes are so weak in NWN2 as opposed to PnP is because people get maximized health when they level up, but attacks are random. It makes the Maximized metamagic a must-have, and Arcane Scholars the best PrC for Wizards. Consequently, I support the buffing of nukes.

Heroes need the weak to feel important. I say, teach the weak the skills they need to live on their own, to protect themselves and break free of the chains of charity and victimization. The Triad needs people to protect. I need people to succeed." -Byrun von Hellstrom

Then again, if it came down to a stand-off between buffing nukes and un-nerfing some of the spells I'm not entirely sure which I'd like more.

Have any of you guys noticed that the 2nd level spell Touch of Idiocy is more powerful than the 5th level Feeblemind spell? :P Sure, the number of points drained by Feeblemind is greater, but it also has a save, which makes it about 20x less likely to succeed against a Mage or Cleric.

Heh, whoever made Touch of Idiocy must have copied it straight from PnP, whereas Feeblemind got a heavy nerfing.
