I'll drop in just long enough to point out that I've seen Xaayne buffed to the hilt by my MT. He still had to be careful and was usually in pretty solid danger of dying going through the mossdale temples pre-2nd sundering.

And basically if Seb can't mitigate it, then your only option is basically James Arrow (and his extra lvl(s))

AC is king at high lvl, even with 10dr if your AC is in the 30's you're still likely going to die.

I played a frenzied berserker for a little bit and got him to level 9. From my short experience as a FB, they didn't really need any buff. I was doing exceptionally well all the way to ogre caves and a bit past that. I usually played him with a tower shield and a bastard sword(cause AC is very important in Sundren), and went two handed when i wanted to impress people on how fast I can kill things. That being said, I do feel that frenzy was usually not worth using. It was a very situational feat that i would only use when dueling or when i needed to kill stuff fast or rp. Chances are when I used it i would throw away shield and go two handed power attack, and i would die(or bleed to death later) in situations that i would otherwise survive had i gone in with shield and supreme cleaving normally. I would purpose setting frenzy more to pnp, instead of -6 hp a round, make it -2 hp. This may help the frenzy skill a little.

Actually, there is a very valid point to going pure 20 levels in classes like fighter/rogue/wizard even before the buffs fighter/rogue got. Versatility. Fighter with a prestige had fewer feats, which meant he had fewer options to fall back on then a fighter of his equivalent level did. Pure rogue over the prestiges is better skill points, because as far as I can remember, no rogue prestige gets 8+int skill points. So, a pure rogue will always have more skills, at higher values, then a multiclasser does. Pure wizard has more metamagic feats over a multiclasser, which means he can pick up the crafting feats, and still pick up his metamagic feats, and maybe still have feats left over for Toughness or something.

Pure barbarian over a barb/fb is supposed to give you better durability. YOu get the better DR, more Con when you rage, which means more HP. So, the hope is you can outlast what you are hitting, and they are good for fighting hordes of really physically weak mobs, because they take far less damage over all. That being said, only dwarven barbarian is viable for 20 levels, simply because you need the added DR of the dwarven feats to be viable compared to a barb/FB, or fighter/FB. You'll always do less damage then a FB, and they get more attacks then a full Barb does. Also, that fighter/FB build can wear full plate right off the bat, no feat's wasted getting there, so even with a -4 to ac, he still has a better ac then the pure Barb, and he can throw on a tower shield, while the pure Barb can't. I actually envy the fighter/FB because he can hit a 30 ac on his own, and I can't hit that with buffs.

Pure classes give versatility, prestiges give power for a price is how it's supposed to go. If you give a prestige the versatility or power that he was supposed to give up for prestiging, then you give no viable reason to ever go full 20 in a class.

I will, however, concede that I do not mind if FB's took less damage for their frenzy at least. That could actually be a good thing.

As I said, to mitigate adding of DR advancement ((3/- DR in 10 levels)) to add some extra power to Barbarians, especially at the 15-20 levels. It would make both classes better ((Barbarian more so)), and make Pure barbarian a more viable choice for a variety of players.

I know in another thread that someone suggested some fighter bonus feats at certain levels. I know that is one area Barbarians seriously lack.
