It's also worth mentioning at this stage that with a simple little feat (still spell) you can tank yourself in full-plate with a heavy shield, and THEN cast all those lovely protection spells, including the "self only" ones that no-one other than a theurge can benefit from, with no arcane spell failure chance. It's possible for a MT to get themselves to an AC that afaik, no other class can achieve. A D4 HD doesn't seem so bad in that respect.

Like I said before - you have to get to a high level before a mystic theurge can take advantage of any of that. and last time I checked metamagic increased the casting slot which would cripple anything but an epic leveled character (or one with magical trickster levels and a whole load of skill tricks).
Im going off topic.
Ascetic Rogue would be interesting as well! I think it increases the stunning dice DC if your attempt was capable of dealing sneak damage. (Might be from Comp Adv)Originally posted by roguethreeIf I had my way, clerics would have spell failure and a d6 hit die. And Favored Souls wouldn't exist.

The character shot up to level 15 in a heartbeat, because they're powerful pretty much the whole way. I then ditched the character, because it's kind of silly how powerful they are.
Keep in mind, you're losing one level of wizard to gain eleven levels of cleric. There are many ways to build the mystic theurge, but that's just one example. That's a whole lot of something in exchange for losing very little. It is very powerful. Seriously.
