I see Sundren already has a number of custom spells, so clearly creatig such additional content is not an issue. So my suggestion is to allow a bit of variety for the core NWN spells.
Firstly, summons. What about scripting in a choise of what you'd like to summon with a Summon Creature I-IX instead of giving everybody those default animals and elementals? Various themes could be added, such as undead (yes, I know there already are undead summoning spells, but this way there could be some different kinds of different strength, corporeal, incorporeal); shadows for anyone who's into Shadow Weave (in addition to the existing Shadow Conjuration spells); magical beasts or what have you; elementals from tiniest to elder for elemental mages, more animals (or animal spirits like in MotB) for druids.
Secondly, a little more vaiety could be added to elemental damage spells. NWN2 already has more spells of different types of elemental damage, but I think it could still be improved. A Sonicball instead of Fireball, or Divineball, or Magicball, for example. More damage types could be added to Flame Weapon (and equivalents) for someone who just doesn't like fire (cold damage for those Auril worshippers, or maybe negative energy damage for those who feels particularly evil today, or positive energy for someone who feel particularly.. good?).
Thirdly, (and maybe unnecessarily) I hear the druids are getting new wildshapes, but I don't know if Polymorph Self/Shapechange spells are getting some love too. If they are, I withdraw this part of my suggestion; if they aren't, it might be worth a shot adding some variety there too.
Anyway, that's my three cents. Any thoughts?

Besides there are already spells that make your character from every other one. Clerics of Auril could substitute another damage spell for 'Corona of Cold', A priest of Chauntua could swap out Divine favour for Entangle or a Enchanter could swap out one of his devastating damage spells for Hold Person or Dominate.
