Entry 1:
Allow me to introduce myself. I am Hsssaathlei'queroth del Slim Fang, scholar of my people and trainer of raptors and versed in the study of nature.
As our homeland has become too confining, and my people are slowly advancing into these lands, I have been tasked with learning about the creatures inhabiting this inhospitable and cold vale.
I will concentrate my studies chiefly on the dominant species, which all appear to be of the class of warmbloods (Mammalia, subclass Theria), order of Primates, family Hominidae.
I have not been in this valley long, so my findings at this time are sparse at best.
In the weeks to follow, I shall keep a journal of what I observe, to share with you, my kin, so that we may better understand and adjust our actions.
Firstly, as their name suggests, they are warmblooded. As hard as this is to grasp - they do not bask in the sun to warm their bodies, instead by some terribly energy-consuming mechanism, they generate their own body heat.
This must be quite inconvenient for them - as is evident in the amount of nourishment they must imbibe.
As I write these words, the Ranger by the fire I am sharing has had his second meal today. His second! I am still full from that infant badger I had last week.
They seem to have trouble pronouncing the "s"-letter properly.
