Great story. A few things that may aid in relevences and avoid making her appear to "high of level."

There is a spell that allows a caster to grant a prepared spell to another creature as a Spell Like Ability. You could use this to explain how the children had the ability to cast harmful spells that would otherwise not likely be known or granted to one.

It would be more likely that one of Kelemvor's Avatars would have visited Ashley, and even then his avatars are usually seen at the aftermath of a great battle, or aiding spirits in their journey on other planes. Maybe include that the country had just seen a great war or some larger event that caught Kelemvor's attention to send his Avatar, making Ashley more or less "At the right place at the right time" rather then being the sole reason for the Avatar's presence.

As to her liaison... I'll leave that to Edge

I have a suggestion for the liaison, but the final call is still with edge.

I would possibly suggest a Phoenix, being the symbol of life, death, and rebirth. It also possess the necessary ability to travel across the astral plane, allowing it to relay to one of Kelemvor's Avatars, or Kelemvor himself.

Well, suggest something else...the celestial thing was initially my way of saving my PC's story the first time it hiccuped. :O

Give me ideas on what could work please!

The phoenix wouldn't work for alignment reasons, I think. This is mostly Jerren's say, but my guess after reading a bit is that Kelemvor wouldn't mind deathless creatures. The reason I say this is that undead avoid death by aligning with negative energy and feeding off of the environment. Deathless, however, are awarded with an afterlife on the prime material plane it seems. That means her cohort could be a simple deathless creature.

I guess this question comes to me because I play a Paladin, whom will more than likely encounter this character since he is on a cruisade to smite the evils of the world.

Not only does this character lack conformity by any DnD standards, but it lacks proper alignment identification as well. Since this character is evil at one point and i'm assuming neutral at another, how is it fair to folks using abilities versus evil alignments?

For example (assuming for whatever reason her alignment is neutral, which i'm assuming it is), she is in town and she decides her character is going to be evil so she murders someone and a LG Paladin jumps in to smite evil(this has happened). However, it does not work. This is a violation of game mechanics and is not fair to both parties.

What I am saying is, if her alignment is not evil (which I have no idea of what it is) it violates game mechanics and becomes nonsensical when battling characters whom have special capabilities against evil.

Seriously, I don't want to be part of any role-play that does not make sense or is artificial to me.

Like what? Are there any types?

Deathless are like undead, however they're sponsored by a deity (a good one, usually, but there's nothing I can tell that would say Kelemvor or a neutral deity wouldn't sponsor deathless creatures) and exist from energy from the positive energy plane. They're effectively physically manifested spirits existing for a short time to accomplish a strong purpose. For example, a deathless of Kelemvor may exist because it still wishes to destroy a powerful archlich. Despite this, a 'short time' is a somewhat subjective word. I believe deathless could very well exist for centuries if their purpose is high enough.

Also, Scarlett, and I mean this with respect, if your character takes evil actions expect an alignment shift. Anthropic's comments may be harsh, but they're not without merit. When you shift alignment you may or may not be subject to loosing your deity's favor. Furthermore, a character's beliefs mean nothing in Dungeons and Dragons morality; rather, if a character murders a child thinking it is a demon, the character has still murdered a child in the end and will be treated as such. I've not observed your character enough in game to judge, though I am warning you so that you realize that you're still playing in the Dungeons and Dragons universe.

Hopefully the info on deathless explains a little, regardless.

A character who murders is not necessarily evil in alignment, one act of evil does not constitue an evil alignment. Therefore, if you witnessed someone commit a murder, don't expect protection from alignment or smite evil to work.

In Edge's example of murdering a child thinking it was a demon (or possessed by one) the action is not actually an evil one at all. Chaotic at best, but not evil. Now there may be moral issues tested and laws broken in the processes, but laws and society morals are different then alignment laws.

Also, Yes deathless.. I can't believe I forgot about deathless... I vaguely remembered them while searching for an alternative... but stumbled upon the phoenix before finding them and sorta just put it out there.

Deathless would seem a valid choice

...I want to say so many things to you, but I won't. I've decided to consider this PC for discontinuation. Sorry guys, you win.

Eh, I would disagree about both killing a child not being evil and 'winning.' I won't fight with you, Jerren, but I think killing a child would be doubtlessly more evil than chaotic, if not both. As for you, Scarlett, I wasn't particularly petitioning for anything, or why would I be putting effort into finding you a realistic alternative if I wanted the character scrapped?

Shes screwed either way. The main thing of her RP isn't allowed. I have no reason to continue her.
