*Cadmus stands again to adress the crowd. He dips his wide brimmed hat and sets it down on the seat behind him*

If the majority of those gathered desire to assign a representative from each discipline of magic then I think it would be best if we determined which of us claims mastery over each school.

*Cadmus clears his throat*

I myself shall start by stateing my own spellcraft focus.

*Cadmus whipes his brow with the hem of his robes tailored sleeves.*

I myself claim the school of Necromancy.

*Cadmus raises his bearded chin slightly and looks out amongst the crowd awaiting the eventual backlash his announcement is sure to invoke.*

I think Cadmus would make a perfect leader of the necromantic arts.

I myself claim singing, drinking, love making, and of course, all forms of magic. My spells vary widely and I can use any rune known to man.

I can also make any magical wand.

Z'huul rises and moves to the front to speak again. "Ladies and Gentleman, I feel I must speak. At this time with a membership of perhaps a dozen members I feel that so many leaders is a poor choice. I urge you to appoint a group of not more than three leaders, enough to ensure no one person dominates, but few enough for coherent leadership. Use this system until our numbers grow enough that representatives of every type of spellcasting will have meaning instead of simply being the one person who has joined of that discipline. In case others worry I am making this suggestion in an attempt to garner power for myself. I voluntarily remove myself from candidacy for leadership. I do not desire the responsibilities or obligations that come with leadership, I merely seek for Arcanus Liberus to have a united, and functioning leadership during this period of initial growth."

With this Z'huul returns to his place by the wall and stand stock still again.

*Cadmus walks to the front of the assemblage with a determined look upon his face*

"Rarely have I spoken during the recent meetings of our order, rather I remained content to simply listen to the arguements as they were presented and filter through the rhetoric."

"As it stands now our numbers do not support the inclusion of a proposed master from each school being granted a proposed seat upon the council."
"Perhaps in time if our organization grows beyond its current size such a amendment can be dicussed amongst the council.

"Many have stated their desire for representation within the order, but I think many have misunderstood the intentions of the order and what purpose it truly serves."

"The Arcanus Liberus was formed to facilitate the sharing of knowledge amongst its members. It was designed to be a place where all practitioners of the arcane could meet in safety and share their perspectives on the art we so truly love. It was never intended for the order to become more than that, but in hindsight perhaps that was a foolish notion.

*Cadmus waves his hand in a sweeping gesture taking in the entirety of the crowd*

"Surely there has been a void in the arcane community that many have yearned to see filled, and perhaps the Arcanus Liberus shall serve as the catalyst for a larger movement."
"Understand that before any substantial gains can be made a solid foundation must first be formed." "What we choose to build upon that foundation shall be a combined effort of all those involved with the order, not just the desires of the proposed High Council."

"All members of the order shall be represented in equeal standing, but decisions must be made that affect the direction and goals of the Arcanus Liberus."
"By assigning too many seats to the council we simply guarantee a convoluted system where even the simplest of decisions are doomed to fall under the weight of constant debate and infighting, eventually leading to an organization that lacks the power to make proper changes.

"I simply ask each and every one of you gathered here this night to determine what it is you seek from our order, and by doing so I hope that we can finally put these debates to rest and begin the process of formation without further delays.

"Zhuul, though humble he may be, was the driving force behind the formation of such an order." "Many nights he spent sitting around the campfire descibing his ideas and goals for the order to myself and many others."

"I feel that if a council must be voted upon, and surely it must be, that we propose no more than three members to sit upon it's seat, and that Zhuul be one of those members."

*Cadmus turns and begins to take a seat, but before he does he places his wide brimmed cap upon his head and utters a final statement."

"The time has come for decisions to be made. Cast your votes for the remaining members of the council, and by majority it shall be established."

*Cadmus takes a seat next to Eric and gives him a sly wink.*

"And ye thought that perhaps bards do be the only ones who can give a rousing speech eh lad."

*Smiling to himself Cadmus sits in silence awaiting the decision to be made.*

Samantha streatches a hand in the air.
"I vote for what you think is best"

Peppington removes his hat and twists in his hands. Inexplicably, he wearing a second smaller hat under the first.

"Oh er..well..I er *ahem* believe then that Mr Zhuul should take a seat on the council. Er..and perhaps the others should be filled by those most experienced in Arcane matters?"

[Shadoweaver]

Z'huul addresses the rest of the crowd before anyone else can speak. "My guildmates, I wish you to know I will serve on the council if you require it of me, however I was sincere when I said I did not wish to do so to garner power to myself. I will serve unless any objects, if anyone does, even.. " Pauses for a moment "...Puck. I shall have to consider myself disqualified from membership on the council." With this he returns to stony immobility.

*The door bursts open with a gust of wind and a figure enters, his cowl pulled low over his striking blue eyes. He walks to the center of the room, his elegant red robes swaying back and forth as he walks, clicking a staff against the floor.*

"I, Mako Darkleaf, Ambassador of the Thayan Enclave of Aquor, wish to join your ranks. I place my own name into consideration for leadership over Evocation, though, more importantly, I am here to bolster the ranks of this fledgling organization. Do you accept my presence among this congregation?"

[Mako]

"Ah yes, upon further consideration I agree with Z'huul that we need an odd number of leaders in this place." *sniffs and walks over to stand by Norian, throwing a solemn nod his way.* ((OOC: I'll just stand here until the debate is solved))

Z'huul eyes the newcomer in red robes. "Fellow guildmembers, I believe we will have to debate the inclusion of a Red Wizard in Arcanus Liberus. I also think that Sir Mako should consult with his superiors, to my knowledge the Red Wizards frown upon membership in other guilds, if they will not permit his joining the point is moot."

I agree with Zhuul and Cadmus, there should only be three to begin with. The three should represent as much of the arcane as possible.

Therefore, I propose that Zhuul, Cadmus, and myself be the three initial leaders of the organization.

Zhuul represents the arcane and battle
Cadmus represents the truly arcane and learning
And I, I represent all those whose natural talents lean towards the arcane

What say you?
