Journal (in elfish):
Today was unnerving to say the least. A ship was spotted in the distance so I was ordered to go down below and stay put until the captain came for me. I thought this was odd but remembering the rules set forth I did as instructed.
I had been mending ropes for some time before I felt a sharp turn and the whole ship rocked like we hit something. I was going to head up but stayed as instructed. I sunk behind some creates as I heard metal clanging, screams, and smelled smoke. It seemed like an eternity before the captain came down for me. I was so relieved that I jumped up and went to hug him but he stepped aside and stated it is all safe. He went on to state that it was pirates and they fended them off.
“It’s all part of being at sea” he said as I rushed to the deck to see for myself. Other than a pile of ropes that were cut down, I did not see anything unusual. As I walk off with new ropes to mend I noticed a column of smoke in the horizon, but I did not question.
