  • In the Aftermath of the Advent's Destruction

Baragorn's first concern would be to help clear the Trade district of the bodies. Saving those who could be, and those that could not, he'd begin with helping bringing them to the Temple of Helm, and then sending missive to Sestra, to their Temple of Kelemvor, requesting that a priest be sent for the Last Rites.

It'd be during this time that he'd be sure to speak to the people who watched the gruesome work being done. Taking his time to speak to them patiently, and softly. Doing what he thought necessary, so the people did not lose hope.

"It is in such times that we must turn to the gods and ask for help. Prayer is not a meaningless thing. The more of our prayers we lift up, in both hope and supplication, the greater our voices will be heard. The more faith we give to those we follow, the further our trust is proven, and exalted."

When asked if he was a priest, which almost always seemed inevitable when he spoke on such things, he would smile warmly to them, with a small shake of his head.

"I am just a servant of the True, a follower of the Triad, like you."

He would state this, even if the person had not professed their direct trust in those gods.

"Tyr will see that those who have done this will come to justice. Ilmater will see that those who have suffered will come to comfort. And Torm will see that there are those who will defend the people. It is with such faith that you will endure. That Sundren will endure. That the people will endure."

That gentle smile once again touches his face.

"Because the people are what matter."

Many people lay slain, killed during the night's attacks upon Sestra. And though it was one of many places attacked by the masses of vampires, this place was one that hit Cirion the hardest. For the past several months he'd return to the small town he now called home, spent his time there watching over the people, talking to the locals and trying to treat all people there as friends.

The loss of friends and loved ones is possibly the most difficult of pains to overcome - at least such is how Cirion felt - and every loss of a Sestran hurt him just as hard as it has with all friends and people he cared for throughout the past. Even worse was when he had to see parents mourning over the death of their children, a woman crying over the body of her husband, and whole families murdered; it was the kind of pain he hated to see others experiencing. While he knew dying was a natural part to life, he never wanted to see others suffering because the actions of those with ill-intent.

Though he was furious over what happened, he didn't leave to immediately seek out revenge against the Dark Advent; rather he decided to spend time with the survivors of Sestra, and comfort them after their losses. He knew what these people needed right now was a caring person to give them kind words, help them not fall into greater depression over the loss of loved ones, nor have greater fear of the Advent's attacks upon them and their families. To Cirion, this held just as strong of importance as finding a way to fight back at the Dark Advent.

He proceeded to visit almost every home in Sestra and check on the surviving families. Making sure there were no vampires left in the town, and spend time with the townspeople and speak with each one personally.

It didn't take long for him to find homes devoid of life, as the bodies of the former occupants was all that was left -- no more would those people laugh, enjoy happiness, nor continue their lives with others. But he continued on, with a heavy heart, to each home - each body he saw, each loss he was told of, all made him further sadden.

Though his heart was lifted enough, to keep from succumbing to depression, by seeing the many people that did survive. When speaking to those still alive, he voiced his concern and interest in how each person was holding up. Though it was obvious how they felt over the attacks and losses, still he tries to spend part of his time with each person. Before he leaves any a family of Sestra, he tries to ask that in a week's time, they - and others they may talk to - gather outside the Sestra Corsair Headquarters. As he wishes to speak with all the people of the town.

After many hours, he was exhausted from checking over a decent part of Sestra. Barely had the energy to finally walk his way back to the Corsairs headquarters. Where he'd try to retire in his quarters for the night; next day he'd try to see what numbers were left of the militia, post notices of his planned speech to Sestra, and make ready to speak with the town when he said he would.
