((I know it would likely rub wrong the nature lovin folk among us, but I believe the pragmatic dwarves among the cleavers will simply want to bolster our own kin of the north, while still living in sundren. The RP solution will likely take a bit to get done, but just checking folks opinion before we start the truck moving this way.))

orlin looks very grim when he hears of a possible alliance with the exigo.

"Oi don't now nor 'ave oi ever trusted them in the exigo... there industry is sloppy dirt and useless. Most of all they 'ave a rampant disregard fer tha lives and loves of dis valley."

his cheek muscle clench and unclench as he continues through gritted teeth.

"oi think this a far worse union with the redblades that wuz proposed afor. now, oi understand the need to establish ar'selves in this here valley. but in moi moind tha exigo moight as well be the veritas fer all the harm they cause."

he seems to lighten up at this point.

"as for our kin in tha north. oi am all fer helpin kin. often dwarven holds canna see the harm their supposed friend cause on the outside. jes as often they dinnae care either. with our alliance wuth them perhaps we can sway them."

          now speaking with pride.

"tha Cleavers have always been a force of right in this troubled land. if we do join the exigo there WILL be some changes in THEIR action!"

the last is said with such finality that any who bear witness are sure to take notice.

////OOC: um yeah so cleavers and exigo operate quite differently. i personally see it leading to some conflict of interest. however i think joining the clan to the north and allying with their allies can only bolster the cleavers. is it that we HAVE to join/ally with an existing faction? if that is the case, perhaps a little run down of the factions... would help us to better decide... as i've said before i have always seen the cleavers as a force onto themselves. i just don't see them bowing and scraping to ANY of the factions that i know in sundren. the cleavers to me stand for KIN first and for most and only slightly behind kin, freedom and just action.//////

((I simply saw an opportunity for our group to gain some benifit from being a part of a major faction, which means faction stores, private forum, and official dm support. The staff is trying to get folks into factions, and since the dwarves of the north are alighned with the exigo I thought it might work out, but if not then we'll continue as we have. Speaking of which, I'll update the faction lists)

The dwarf Rakmar Chakros, a priest of Dumathoin, was recently seen requesting passage on a ship in the port city. He hasn't been seen since.

*After the myriad of responses to Kilinar's suggestion of the Skullcleavers becoming allies with the Exigo he comes to another possible solution. *

Perhaps if we as a brigade were not to join, but if allowed that I on behalf of the cleavers act as our representative in our dealings. And in doing so solidify our relationship with our kin of the north by ensuring that the cleavers have a voice in the Future dealings with our kin of Clan Battlehammer. *he pauses and looks around the room for effect* It is important that we are represented in these dealings, and with a strong working relationship at least by name and myself representing the Skullcleavers we may gain additional benefits and a secure place in their plans.

*After proposing this he looks around again as he flips a page in his ledger* As you likely have heard it is not a guarantee that the Exigo will be the provider of the road to the north and that the City has given a challenge to the exigo and enclave to see who can more readily provide the things required to construct this trade route. Since none of our kin seem to agree to our as a unit allying in whole with them, perhaps this would be a good opportunity for us to flex our dwarven capabilities and show how much we can provide. In this we may be able to negotiate the redesign of the road so that it may better appease our members who are more tending to the forests needs. It could be this leverage that would position myself strongly with the exigo, as well as ensuring that the Skullcleavers, all of us *he looks to the wood loving dwarves and nods* can have our say with this new trade road.

*he finishes with a polite nod, and looks slowly around the room, then back to the Captain*

((Essentially requesting to be allowed to rally the dwarven crafters to provide the things in the competition (They will receive the coin aka the 150% appraise paid) for the steward of the cleavers to turn in the goods so that he may gain faction and influence with the group))

Broran bursts through the tavern door.
Reeling, he takes a moment to regard his kin sat around the table.
Only one of his eyes seems to focus at a time.
He opens his mouth as if to say something and strides forward purposefully, promptly stepping on his own beard and faceplanting into the floor with a sickening slap.
A moment later, loud snoring and an occasional flatulent burp emanate up from where he fell.

A note is left at the Four Lanterns Inn

                              Kin of the Skullcleavers

Ay have heard from another that ye plan to aid Exigo.

Ay aided a group this very day searching for two humans who had been taken by goblins. Ay went with the group to the camp of the Muckspear Tribe. One of Exigo had died of his wounds. The other died from arrowfire as ay bore him out.

Their remains were returned to their kin. Exigo claimed them as their own on viewing their remains.

This is the second group of unsteeled humans ay have seen after being killed wandering the woods. Ay know naught else of the first group or their killers. If ye mean to aid Exigo ay would bear this in mind.

Another note is left at the Four Lanterns

                                Kin of the Skullcleavers

Ay have gleaned further details of the first group from the elf Nisa. Though elven she is well regarded by Ruli Thundren and has been naught but proper in my dealings with her.

A group containing kindred rescued unknown humans from the Muckspear camp. On returning to the fort they were confronted by humans dressed as rangers just east of the bridge. These said the rescued humans were criminals and slew them from a distance using arrows tipped with stone. The arrows being at least similar to those used by goblins.

She believes these humans are probably watching the road.

Ay suggest advancing in two lines and sweeping the flanks should ye have further dealings with humans in the Viridale.
