I see most assume a tank is suppose to sit there and take it. I kinda figure a tank to be able to take it from more then a fist to the face.

Evasion means alot of evocation spells will have little effect.

Azul kinda has my vision as well that in order to tank you have to MUSH them too. Being able to take a hit helps, returning it helps more.

If you knock them down and take them out you get hit less and the 3/- damage reduction doees not matter as much.

Maybe my vision is more of a Brute then a tank.

Though neat it still has many flaws ;D.

Considering it took me over a year to get those levels...

Besides, many levels does not equal powerbuild. She's been put through her paces routinely by other PCs.

a powerful tank would be a paladin. just dump all your points into charisma and get divine shield feat. activating divine shield is like having the guy in the zoolander movie activate his magnum look. you can deflect projectiles and stuff with your handsomeness, how cool is that?!

DD for the win when it comes too tanking, there is only two people on the server so far that can even hit my tanker in a fight, and that was before he was enchanted.

btw grats too the two who hit me, you know who you are...and we will have another match...oh yes we will!

ps...can we lower the Attck power with the orc's in the forest, at 15 and buffed they are cutting through near 53 armor like it was hot melting cheese! very disturbing o.O

The best tank it's a Dwarven Barbarian based on Constitution, that way he will have a lot of HP to endure plus DR, with a lot of skills on Parry and it's a good distracting method while the rogues kills .

mach , Grom has 45 armor unbuffed then another +3 against orc's since he has the sundarian armor. then that doesnt include if he gets buffed. so total of 48 - enchants when in the forest. so yes i belive i seen em at around 53 may have been 51 cant rememmber

If you give my archer a bit of room to run around, he can kill just about anything before it even gets to him, so having to take a hit is much less for him. So, it would be interesting taking on the Thayan

However, if you corner him, he will take a beating, although buffed all the way, his AC is pretty good. Although, he was able to hit Grom, but just barely, LOL - and that was with a 29 AB!

My idea of a tank is someone who can take a hit, give a hit, but also has some defensive balance. I think if you can balance your AB and your AC, you will survive much better than just going in and taking massive damage and then dying. The best build I think ever is the fighter/rogue. You take two rogue levels to get evasion and some backstab, and then the rest fighter for all the feats and such.

that is almost as bad as me wanting to shout "FLAME ON" when ever using hellfire feats in single player.

you can decrease someone's attack by 15 if a strength based fighter well roughly 12-15 with two spells.

Same problem with the tank of fighter/DD is its great for physical attacks not so much magical.

Hit with web it would be stuck then just blast with offensive spells. Also both builds mine and the other would have a rough time with mind effecting spells. Phantasmal killer would be a rough one.

Getting to level 15 pure wizard is not something I see alot of but if you get someone casting forceful hand. Defensive stance becomes defensive lay down.

d20+6 vs d20+14 is alot better then d20+3 vs d20+14.

Though the 7/- will help with one of the most annoying wizard spells (IMS, or IGMS). Other spells will easily exceed that reduction wittling it down, or just pinning that build.

*sigh* can't wait to get back IG again and start selling wands *cough* found that help do such nasty tricks.
