Sorry all, I'm gonna be boring.

The original and the best. When Tolkien made these he knew he'd never be bested. Everything else is just ponsing around.
If honour is truth and a lie is respect, then a secret is sacred.
Confide in me my friend and I shall love you like no other.

Annaleen Wiltenholm-There's always something to smile about.
Chani Kalera- Intimidation is the new diplomacy. *looms*
Eleanor "Bloody Elle" Lark - Why is the rum always gone?
Yolanda Brown - If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. But unless life also gives you water and sugar, your lemonade is going to suck.

My favorite would have to be the Earthquake Beetle from the Creature Catalog. Its a giant 36th level Beetle that causes random earthquakes.

As far as a releveant monster, I think Lizardmen are cool, but I'm really a fan of Wurms(I guess Purple Wurm is the most popular these days). Those monsters add a whole new dimension to combat, where you could be fighting it from the inside if your unfortunate enough to get swallowed up.

Perytons are awesome too, they can randomly "omgwtfpwn" someone with that heart-ripping out attack.

I am fond of the Medusa because:

                I love Greek mythology and,

because I had a 9th level mage in PNP die from her look in a great campaign.
                • Dalrion - Ranger of the Viridale
                • Constantine - Adorned of Ilmater
                • Crom - Priest of Gorm
                Bring me a Shrubbery!

Truly, you should have known! I would have prefered an infernal cow, but a diabolical one will just have to do

Being an old school Dark Sun fan, it might have to be Dregoth, the undead Dragon King. He figured humans weren't strong enough so he just made his own race, the dray. And when he messed up, he just tried again. Perseverance pays off.
                    Byrun - Wandering Swordsman
Falrenn Silvershade - Shaper of Truths

If you're searching the lines for a point
                    Well, you've probably missed it
                    There was never anything there
                    In the first place

The Doppleganger (fond memories of BG1 probably).

The Ooze, because creatures with 36CON are manly. The Elder sentient black pudding being my personal favorite (and the tastiest one!).

Last but not least the humble troll..
