What is everyone's hobby?

What is it I just don't get about anime? Everything seems so hyped up about it. It's not because I dislike it, I just don't see the beauty of childlike creatures with small noses and big eyes and usually (unnaturally proportioned) body curves of a xxx movie star.

Or perhaps I've simply watched the wrong shows, read the wrong books or seen the wrong comics?

Please, someone, enlighten me.

For me, it's the plots...they are amazing. Better then any TV series I've ever seen America pull-off (especially if you relate it to American cartoons). If you can look past the animation-style the plots are very in depth and quite original. I'm not really fond of the "XXX movie star" bodies either but, eh, guess it brings in the men. As for manga, never really got into that. When I buy a book, I want words not pictures.

But, it's possible you just seen some really crappy anime...I recommend Full Metal Alchemist, Hellsing, or better yet, DeathNote. ^__^

Anyhoo, staying on topic...hobbies: drawing, reading, fencing, and of course, gaming

Cowboy Bebop. It's modern enough to keep your interest but still has that space feel that wants you to watch more. It also has Spike. Making it awesome.

Cooking which is also my career, so that makes it easy to mix work with pleasure. Although opening a restaurant is never pleasure. Let me tell you, eighty to ninety hours a week on your feet gets to be a bit much.
Other than that, I'm an ancient history buff, mostly Roman history. I also play quite a bit of golf in the summer. And of course alcohol, mostly beer but I like a good Italian red every once in a while.

Warhammer is my love, in specific Warhammer 40,000. I have a deadly collection spanning more then a hundred models easily and I love to paint and assemble them more then actually play the associated game. I've gone to a few tournaments while playing them too, I usually place in the top 3... I've yet to have taken home a 1st prize though... Looking forward to the competition this year.

Well, lets see... Obviously, I like video games. I also love to read science fiction and, on occasion, nonfiction. I recently got a sociology degree, so I do have an interest in observing people and looking for trends in society. Other hobbies of mine include fishing, watching sci-fi shows such as Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, and Heroes. I like to watch movies, listen to rock music, making stories through DM'ing with the occasion to make small things up in the toolset, and I like a few other things that I do not get to do often like travelling. One thing I never tried yet, but want to eventually is scubadiving.

I love reading fantasy novels and watching good movies. Also during the summer I body board at the beach, and play a little basketball and tennis. I also love to draw but I've been so busy lately I haven't picked up a sketch pad in years.

Anime was a big one. Not into the new stuff as much as the old but still enjoy the old a lot. *waves to Scarlett* nice to see another Cowboy Bebop fan out. Still think Ruronin Kenshin was one of the best and Ranma 1/2 fits my twisted sense of humour and love of parody. Got a long list but won't subject you all to it.

Other than that I practice Shaolin Kungfu, read fantasy and sci-fi novels, play a lot of NWN 1 & 2, and DM and play a few PnP RPGS, mostly DnD and Immortal the Secret War though getting back into the White Wolf line of games and maybe Shadowrun as well. I Play some chess now and then and enjoy a good walk around the park. I enjoy computers and never watch TV anymore unless it is a video/anime I have bought or rented. Can't stand commericials.

Outside of gamming what does everyone else like to do for a hobby?
I personally collect action figures IE Spawn,Marvel Legends and some DCSH.I also sculpt and repaint figures.
