Fireball is an AOE spell, its not that likely a party would have been any better off there.

Frustrating deaths though, I think it has to be every time I crash in the middle of a fight with full or near full HP and then come back in dead or dying for no apparent reason, even with a party (who sometimes is perfectly fine, having beaten the encounter and moved on).

*wonders what kind of party could keep you alive when you are hit from two criticals in a row by an orc wielding a greataxe*

(that was one of the days that made me hate this game)

Had an anti-ogre trip supply my most frustraiting death, one of our party rushed a group of ogres and died while we tried to save him. Unfortunatly we were surrounded ourselves.

Used 'Barbarian Rage' to try and help me out, but realised I was dead unless I ran for it, a quick invis potion and a fist full of aoop's later and I dashed away, celebrating the fact I was alive with 2hp to spare!

Then I discovered I had no healing kits, then no poitions..

            Then Barb rage wore off.

I swore quite a lot as the forest of eternal night loaded..
            Eira Skald - Icy bitch.
Karsten Mannerheim - Idealist and murderer.
Vincent Hopkins - Witch Hunter and man of faith.
Aedan Gilter - Dreamer of broken dreams.
Henry L. Jones - Oh god, I can see forever.

*Runs out the cave being chased by ogres after running out of spells* "sheesh I made it out alive! (barely) Time to set up camp and rest" *Begins sleeping and bears endurance fades, death by sleeping*

*Finishes fighting an encounter using the last heal kit barely living with 1 hp left and bears endurance drops killing me*

^^ after both situations I have learned not to use bears endurance.

There are plenty of buffs that would have helped in these situations! Partying definitely helps.

I think the most frustrating death for me was the first one. I did not read the death rules very throughoutly and was shocked at the loss of XP. Keep in mind I am somewhat new to PW servers, so I thought it was some kind of a glitch at first. Now I do not go anywhere dangerous without all the items on my checklist.

                  Anti-death Checklist:
                  - Invisibility Potions
                  - Healing Kits
                  - Defensive spell scrolls
                  - At least two companions slower than me, dressed in bright distracting colors
                  sigpic

Of course it does...but how do you know i wasn't buffed when the orc hit me? Sometimes shit just happens and there is nothing you can do about it

I think Rellik would agree on this one, Him and Varn were in the ogre caves killing everything in sight. In one the rooms was three casters (2 shammy, 1 wizard) and two fighters. I went to pull only a few and when i backed up, rellik went in. So we had them all on us but we would have ran if it wasnt for the wizard stun. It got rellik so i ran in to heal him, keep him alive till it worn off.. as it did we both got slapped with it (I rolled a 1, which if i had rolled a 2, i would been fine!) so he gets killed and im standing there getting slap. Soon it wears out i got slapped again with it! Then died... Cheap wizard stuns!
                      Currents:
                      Nothing yet.

Forgottens, as time has slip, so have they.

Mine happened recently. There was this demonic solar we're fighting and there was a good 5 or 6 of us pounding on it. It started swinging on me, and when I got hurt enough I would duck away, heal a little, come back in. Hell as soon as I re-enter its starts swinging on me again. Not an AOO either! So I back out and heal up and come back in BAM! It does it again. Lolercide's laughing at me in OOC tells cause he sees it happening too. So I back out heal up, come back in , and the dam thing turns around and lays me out.

                          It really didn't like me.
We counted later and in the space of about 4 rounds it critted me 7 times(I'm talking crit + crit on the confirmation roll 20/20's and such). I just chalk it up to the anti-snow hawk movement thats gaining momentum.

Shoulda called in some samurai aid

My worst death happened recently too... came back after a while, went into the Cartel with a group of people across the level scale. More just a money raid, than any real experience gaining/RP reason.

My char relies HEAVILY on scrolls, (cos he can do jack all naked), but these cost money - ideally, I want to minimise costs on a money raid.

As you can probably guess, I skimped out on the buffs too much and got whammed at the end of the cave with the fireballs and arrows flying all over the place

8k EXP gone. In Cartel. For a money raid. AT LEVEL 14.

                            This made me cry :'(

EDIT: It was somewhat amusing at the time though, because ***NAME REMOVED TO STOP PROBLEMS*** apparently left the server at this point after losing a mere 800 in the same way xD

My most frustrating death was repeatedly trying - and failing - to point and click my mouse at the transition I was nearly standing on top of, wanting to run away, knowing I was overmatched. The moment they killed me was when I finally managed it. Doh.

Sadly, it happened more than once.
Annaleen Wiltenholm-There's always something to smile about.
Chani Kalera- Intimidation is the new diplomacy. *looms*
Eleanor "Bloody Elle" Lark - Why is the rum always gone?
Yolanda Brown - If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. But unless life also gives you water and sugar, your lemonade is going to suck.
                              Astrid Hammerhand - Och!
