I'm curious about a lot of usernames on this forum, so I've elected to make this thread open as an opportunity to share your nonsensicle backgrounds that resulted in your forum name. I mean, where did "Gairun" come from? What about "Saulus"?

I'd start this thread off by explaining my own name, but I dare not explain the audacities behind the creation of what is now called Kangleton. So uh, everyone else should post instead.

Peridan was the name of a sword in BG2. Meant "Dragonslayer". Every time I wanted to come up with a cool name, they were usually taken. This however, was never used, so I took it as my own =P

wangxiuming is my chinese name. earthlor comes from when I used to play Earth 2025 (or something, I forget what it really is - that online game where you could build your own nation, forge alliances, attack other countries for territory).

Well my name sure have a complicated history. When i was little my all time favorite game was American McGee's Alice (still a great game by the way), i liked the story in the game so much that i even read some fan fiction about the game and in one of the best once the villain was named Konchuu. ohh and it also means insect in Japanese

Since I have taken 3 semesters of japanese language, I just figured you spoke japanese and liked the sound of Konchuu lol.

Back when I was like 13 I started playing EQ1 and my first character I created I named Jaeram, I didn't get it from a book or game, I just made it up lol. I got that ranger to 60 and AA's, reincarnated him as a hunter in WoW - and was in a raiding guild at 70. As well as many many many other games that I beta tested, and forum names. I use it for a whole lot of stuff.

Edit : Venture - That was my guess as to where your name came from lol. When I read your stuff about Vincent Venture I kept saying Thaddeus Venture to myself.

Gairun, I promise not to laugh. And wasn't Machiavelli a philosopher or some such, who staged his own death? And "Japanese Insect" is kinda interesting, lol.

I've decided though, to declare where the name Kangleton came from. However, be advised that this, in no way, actually explains what a Kangleton is:

Back in the day, I used to play stupid-ass games. They were all pretty garbage, as they were free and juvanile, and were all comparible to Runescape in regards to quality. Every name I tried was always, always taken, so I decided to excersize my ability to come up with the most ridiculous and hideous name I could think of, the likes of which would never have been seen before. The end result was Kanglorv, which is pronounced, shockingly, as "Kang - Lorv".

To date, Kangleton is still my gamespy login name, though I decided to spice it up on the forums and revisit the name to create Kangleton, which is the combination of Kanglorv and Zoodleton (Zoo-Del-Ton), with Zoodleton being plagarized from a friend of mine.

I also go by Mr. Diddles when I'm feeling flamboyant.

For a long time my nickname was Sparky. However, when I was seriously playing Counter Strike at tournaments and stuff, people thought it was a bit too...nice, so forcibly changed it to Sparkeh. Apparently it sounds better or something?

Anyway it stuck, plus whenever I sign up for stuff the username Sparky is always taken, Sparkeh isnt
