* Sigh * I admit, this is a name from lord of the rings lol. The characvter I took it from is only shown about three times though. I'm not telling who, look for yourself.

Verrath is old, very old...

"Verrath" was a name of a character in a story I once started writing - the name was mostly randomly strung together until there was something sounding suitable alien in an English piece of prose.

She was a minor character and the story fizzled without her ever being introduced so she became my first D&D character, a Wild Mage who died horribly just before reaching level 6.

Then came the day when I created my first email address, back when the internet was still a wee baby... I tried the name of one of my major characters and it was already taken, and then I tried this one, and it wasn't. So I became Verrath

Oddly enough, to this day, when I register in a forum, I've ~never~ found this name to be taken. There is one other person who goes by that name out there at least (an impostor, obviously ), though we haven't crossed paths. And some fantasy writing about a green dragon named Verrath, nope, not me either.


Oh and yes. It was only a few years ago that I realized that "Verrath" is actually the Medieval German form of "Verrat" which means treason. Which is a little embarrassing, German being my native language.

'Sammael' is a villain in Robert Jordan's 'Wheel of Time' series. I thought the name sounded cool. At least, it did the way I said it in my head, which sounds sort of like 'Sam - eye - el' rather than like Samuel.

nothing speical about my name i guess.
paularius swift is the name i came up for my first char in guildwars nearly 3 years ago. my name being paul i just added a bit to it. people say it sounds latin or something not sure my self. it also the name i use for any internet sites or forums.
before guildwars i used fairmor (cant recall where i heard it) and later found out it means farmer in irish, seeing as i AM irish and didnt know that, i deserve smack in the gob.
my character names.. hmm...
well cestello i used as my family name in swords of the new world, which i later brought into guildwars and it kinda stuck, abigail sounded innocent so used that for my main char in sundren leo was my main char in swords of the new world (both use cestello as second name).
julia winters i used in city of heroes for my main char there.
cassie locke was a name i made up in guildwars.
and erika redmark i got from an old game i loved ( and still do) called Exile. or was rereleased as Avernum. i try have an erika redmark in anygame i play.

With a lurching gate and an insatiable hunger for new posts the resurrected thread shambles up behind an unsuspecting new thread. Sinking its yellowed and rotting emotes into the new thread, it feeds, on the delicious and fresh words.

Pooosts! POOOOSSSTssss! it moans as it shamble on to find yet another, victim....

The two posts found a quite moment to be alone... away from all the others at the camp. Soon the lovers would have a moment alone within the old shed by the lake.

Little did they know what was lurking in wait...slime...bile...and teeth!

The post sat alone is its room, the lights flicking on and of as it swallowed its misery in the form of posted pictures. As it sat, drunk on cats sucker punching dogs and pictures of spartan butter, it sadly remembered its now lost buddy, the thread. A knock resounded against the flimsy door. Again and again, it knocked, with the sounds of scraping and growling against it.

The post scuttled away from the door, and into a corner, scared out of its post count.

Terrified, the post covered its avatars in horror as the door splintered.

Then it cracked.

And then it burst open, and the light flickered off for the last time....

Name comes from my favorite EQ2 character, a DE warlock who was the guildmaster of a neutral RP guild. Loved the concept, story, and interaction with others I had with him. Although I love to RP, I ended up shelving him and only logging him on for guild meetings or raids, just because I never got to 'play' him anymore.

Don't think i'll ever make another Andcin V'Shion in a game, but I use him in forums as sort of a..."I remember...

Yes, my first, oldest, and favorite, EQ character Jaeram, a wood elf ranger, lives on in every single RPG and MMO I've ever played. On our server he's a wood elf druid. EQ... those were the days...

He was on the RP server Firiona Vie.

This may sound corny and perhaps a little bit of a cliche, but Silas North came to me in a dream.

Ever since then, it has served several purposes, including an alias. Given my somewhat anti-social nature, I would say I am better known for this name than my real name.
