Eve is the largest sandbox MMO ever, Its social on many levels and extremely hard learning curve, Either you learn or you fail thats pretty much it,Ive played eve for a while not off and on, its great if your smart, charismatic and good with strategy, If your a typical WoW player, your going to be frustrated and bored.

I'm an avid fan of Penny-Arcade comics and visit their forums frequently. They have an entire thread dedicated to this game, where they keep as much up to date news as they can on whats going on in the EVE Universe, plus they have a list of Corporations you can join depending upon your flavor.

If you're serious about getting into this game, and by chance are a Penny-Arcade fan, I suggest joining the forums and checking out that thread.

If not, start looking into corporations depending on what type of playstyle you like the most, as the possibilities in EVE are enormous.

There are Pirate Corporations, Anti-Pirate Corporations, Mining Corps, Deep Space(0.0 Sec[lawless space]) versions of all the of the above, or you MAKE your own if you're into the business aspects and such.

You can run the market, buy low and sell high, YADA YADA.

It can be an awesome game, and if I had a job(just graduated from school and am looking:P) I would probably play it still.
Agreed. I've played EvE soloing around and in small, useless corps and I can definitively say it's incredibly boring played like that.
In fact, I'd say that if you want to play EvE, make sure you do so in one of the big to conglomerations of Alliances; either BoB or the RSF. I'm in one of those (won't say which, because man can people get angry about that stuff ) and there's no way I'd be playing if it wasn't for my corp.
