4. Richard Nixon: NE, maybe TN: Nixon wasn't a total failure and did get things done, like Vietnam and China, but obviously things like Watergate proved he wasn't much on the rules, and made him seem very self serving and the like.
5. Benito Mussolini: LE: Hard to see a fascist dictator as much else.
8. Hilary Rodham Clinton: NE: I am not a Clinton fan at all. I'd love a woman president but, please not her! She is, in my view a very cunning and very very self serving politician, and not at all a good thing.
10. Ghengis Khan: NE: Ruthless, merciless, vicious warrior, but he carved out an empire which really changed the world, though it was not really set up to last for too long.
13. "Bill" (from Kill Bill): LN: Though he was an assassin who was responsible for that brutal church massacre, in the second film he acts as very repentant father who also went to great ends to treat Uma Thurman's character with respect and honor, and he never killed her on many occasions when he had a very easy opportunity.
18. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (President of Iran): CE: Lies through his teeth as he sponsors terrorists all around the world and tries to destabilize his neighbors, while proudly calling for the obliteration of peoples and historical facts, and making sure democracy is a joke in his own country.
20. Tyler Durden (Film "Fight Club"): CG: He tried to bring down the order and improve peoples lives, and tried not to kill anyone at all (the buildings at the end were all supposedly empty thanks to well coordinated plans).
21. General Colin Powell: LN: A soldier, but I can't think of much to put him any particular way on the G/E scale.
22. Martin Luther King Jr.: LG: His protests were never designed to cause chaos, but to keep it all rather orderly and peaceful, and of course further the civil rights movement at the same time.
23. O-Ren Ishi a.k.a Cottonmouth (Film "Kill Bill volume I): LE: She's awesomely evil! But she also apparently worked to expand and control her organization without really shaking it up too much.
26. Tom (Tom & Jerry): CE: Tomcat, poor guy, his plans are lousy and he never really tries to refine anything after it fails. And while he might just be hungry, it seems like his attempts on Jerry were motivated more by a long burning hate after he continuously failed again and again to get him.
27. Lucky the Leprechaun (Lucky Charms): CE: Leprechauns are always CE. Besides hes selfishly hording his lucky charms from hungry children.
31. Agent Smith (film "The Matrix"): LN, maybe TN: From the first film, he is the ultimate enforcer, trying to maintain order while Neo tries to break it down. He was really just doing what he was designed to do. But then if he was just a complex program, did he even have the capacity for moral thought at all?
32. Elvis Presley: LG: The king, man! And DEA agent. And soldier. Working in the system and making some nice music to make people happy.
37. Ferris Bueller (film "Ferris Bueller's Day Off): CN: Crazy teenagers and their crazy plots!
38. "KHAAAAN!!!!!" (film "Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan"): NE: Everyone is a tool for him, but I can't remember much else to say whether he would be lawful or chaotic.
41. Robert E. Lee (Confederate General): LG: A soldier who, as I recall it was always honorable in battle and respected the dignity of his enemies and the rules of war.
47. Seung-Hui Cho (Virginia Tech killer): TN/no alignment: Psycho guy, not really rational in the least, so he can't really make moral decisions, kind of like animals are supposed to be TN or have no alignment.

Ha! I love how two people see Jack Sparrow as C/E!! It goes to show that C/E can be a admired character as well.
Also, this was a little demonstration to kind of show the player base how everyone interprets alignments. For the most part, most posts were on the same page, roughly. But there are quite a bit of Major departures. It is hard enough to work within the confines of an "alignment" in game terms, but this might give you an insight on how others interpret your character's motives and actions. I was hoping that some of these references may help define some inspiration as too how the majority of the players and DMs (who replied) view certain behaviours from these references, to the alignment they classified them to. So in all, this excercise serves to be more of a loose consensus of how alignment is perceived by server population.Currently playing:

You pulled a topic over two years old out of it's grave and molested it just to post that little nugget?
What kind of monster are you?It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do a little - Do what you can.
