  • Adventures in Beer

Thought I'd spawn a conversation about beer. Everyone likes it, especially the cool kids.

This is an oldie but goodie for me. If you like darker beer that isn't too thick, this is the way to go. Organic to boot.

I did have the Edmund Fitz when I was in Minnesota. You're right, it's a good one!
I'll keep an eye out for Three Philosophers, too. Thanks.

I've only ever had one in my life, and I might actually be partial. There's a special story behind the beer, in fact!

            http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/48/156/

This is the most absurdly expensive beer I've ever had in my life. I like micro-brews, and craft beers, and as it happens Philadelphia is really, really big on both. But this little number was given to me by my grandfather around the time his health was starting to take a turn for the worst.

The head is incredibly smooth. The taste lingers, but has no grossness to it whatsoever. Best damn beer I've ever had in my life. But it needs the special glass that comes with a pack of it.

The entire rest of the family had had a glass, but didn't enjoy it. But my grandfather gave me this really proud expression when we both shared one of these. He died a month later, but for whatever reason that moment really stuck with me.

Yes, I just inserted feels into your beer thread. The beer itself is god damn delicious. But the price range makes it more of a celebratory measure. Pick up a glass if you ever get the chance!
I can't tell you enough how happy I am to escape.

Hmmm... Emotions and beer... They always blend together, though sometimes the outcomes aren't as enjoyable as the beer itself lol. I def want to try that, thanks Grey

Tomorrow I will offer a picture of where I work (Be prepared for jealousy, beer and spirits enthusiasts). In the meantime I invite people to try 'Burning Rosids' by Stone Brewery. It is a special limited release to honor the memory of one of their recently deceased brewers. It is an exceptional beer. (Imperial Cherrywood-smoked Saison)

Edit: On a side note, Ommegang is also amongst my favorites. They come out with some amazing stuff.

This thread is great! One, because I live in Germany and love to drink beer... and two, because I have begun studying how to brew beer.

                    Hofbrauhaus anyone?
                    Cheers!

I just got back from a trip to Germany. Being an American, I had no clue that pilsner could be good! Those brew houses were pretty cool. And the Himmel und Erde wasn't too bad, either!

Ale no. 16, from the danish Vestfyens brewhouse. Great Ale, won a few worlds best prices a few years back. Get it before it's gone! Also try it's relative Mamas Stout.

for christmas I always have a large botle of sct. Feullien, it so strong its almost wine!

best beer in the world is still a Rochefort Trappist. Brewed by belgian monks in a non-profit monastery. You have to go pick them up in person. And bring used bottle or crates. If its your first time doing business with them you h have to supply them woth herbs or the like. Tastes like the teat of an angel!

This is the cold section of the craft beer set at my job. Being the boss I get pretty much first pick of anything that comes in, and I can say that the manager in charge has a good nose for craft beer. It is one part of my job that I always enjoy. I mean.. We have so much craft beer that we have to keep another large section warm on the shelves..

Pretty sure I see a Samuel Adams there...I love me some Sam. I know many people think they use waaaaay too much hops, but what can I say...the summer ale is one of my absolute favorite beers. That being said, I need to clean my brewing equipment and start a batch of something sinister...anyone have a suggestion?
