All of these sites have a mild risk of saucy/NSFW content, however, as you are posting to Sundren during your work time I'm sure you're not going to mind the risk of some mild sauce.

It's a musical genius, returned to us after a decades-long self-imposed silence. I hope you appreciate his triumphant return as much as I do.

In the deep wastes of the far north, the dust of the ice danced and swirled with every breath of nature dancing around the soldiers feet as they marched across the tundra. The mild light that crossed the snow brumes which gave a hill-like appearance to the desolate landscape. The sergeant who led the band shivered, his breath escaping like the steam of a smiths cooling barrel, if only such heat could be found. It was not long ago they were in warmer lands enjoying the revelry of their friends and families.

The messenger came in the night, a soft padding up the steps to the courts, their staffing long since retired, not a word exchanged, but a simple letter delivered a letter which would see them marching across the desolate frozen planes to reach a battle long since begun. Ever onward they marched, a frost settling on their armor and beards, giving a near mystical look of despair and a ghostly visage to the legion as it moved.

A fortnight would pass before they would reach the deep holdings of the north the hold which barricaded the known lands against the unknown villainy of the ever-dark valley of the furthest frozen wastes. Simple men marched this night, all far removed from any real combat training and experience, a legion of recruit’s the commander long since accepted lost to the coming battle. A report of a snaking march against the wall a wrath of the north so fierce a call to arms was sent across the lands to all neighboring countries.

Arriving to this scene was a mark of horror and awe. The battlements full, and arrows flew across the sky, like so many waves crashing against the shore, and yet still the foe came at them. Great beasts with wolf-like maws, and the bulk of ten men, hunched over and bound in rough leather and hide armors patched together tightly with barbaric bone knit ties. Above these massive brutes soared great serpents their wings spread liken to great celestial beings darkening the field as their shadows fell upon those soldiers who would soon succumb to the mighty beasts.

The call to arms answered, and the legion of men who would die in this massacre stunned by the awesome sight of their foe too cold to flee and too terrified to fight simply watched the battle unfold, the screams of their countrymen echoing against the frozen air like the wail of some distant banshee. With a harsh call and a drawn blade, their commander roused the men from their stupor. ‘Rise and fight, let not our brothers fall in vein.’ He called out, and many joined the fray, many more to fall, as the night descended the field hushed, legions of the fiends lay strewn with the defenders among them. The commander lay amidst a flood of fallen foes, his sword gripped still in hand his breath waning, he looked at the carnage of his men fallen in this frozen land without a soul to give them peace, his breath ending in the simple regret of failure, the remaining hordes of their foes stepping over them entering the lands.
