For those that are super geeks.... Just wondering if any of you will be attending DragonCon this year? For those that don't know what this is....http://dragoncon.org/. My family and I have attended for the past few years. Always a blast....always a party.....always a good way to see cool stuff!!!

I've thought about going to DragonCon several times - but I just don't want to own up for the flight ticket to the States (from Europe), a hotel, possibly a rental car, plus the ticket AND deal with 6-hour-jet-lag, for a few days of geekdom.

Saulus: Nope. I only do costumes I can make myself. That, while not totally out of my skill range, would be massively expensive to do well (full body life cast, about 20-30 pounds of oil-based clay for molding, enough ultracal to cover the whole thing, and the Dragon Skin silicone to actually make the suit...not to mention the weeks to sculpt it). Plus...all my costumes are designed to hide my gut as best as I can. That suit doesn't seem to have much "hide the fat" properties :P

Equinox: Can't help ya with the other expenses or jet-lag, but you wouldn't need a rental car. We get in on Thursday afternoon and don't see our car until we get ready to leave Monday. The hotel group has a food court and there is a shuttle from the airport to the hotel.
