As of now, I am in the field of Corrections, on the Custody side, but I'm soon to move to the Programs side, where I get to "kiss inmate ass instead of kick it" as my Lieutenant often jokes about. My rank is Sergeant, along with my pay-grade, but I have the responsibilities of an officer (and I'm the envy of all my peers).
Before that, in the field of "unskilled" labor, I've been a grocery bagger, a fast-food cook, a waiter, a bartender, a "knocker" (although I came after the use of the bolt-gun, so I never actually knocked) at a pork and a beef slaughterhouse, and a tech support specialist for Time Warner Cable's Road-Runner service.
I am still qualified as a journeyman upholsterer, a swine farm technician (breeding and gestational specialist), and an apprentice-level butcher.
In the past 13 years, I guess you can say that I've been occupationally promiscuous...but I think I've finally found the one. 5 years NC DOC and holding.
And I'm afraid that, like Seheren, I also have no creative aspirations.
