Naw, I have an 8600. I got it cheap though.

Specs:

2.33 GHz 1333 MHz FSB Intel Core2 Duo ($140)
160GB 7200 RPM SATA3 HDD ($50)
MSI P35 Neo2 mobo ($120) (Dead sexy. It has the awesomest black color ever, and it lights up with SO MANY LEDs )
2 GB AData DDR2 DDR800 RAM ($35) (It's got hot pink heatsinks )
EVGA 8600GT 512MB blah blah blah ($120)
Some random DVD drive. (Free, received from friend)
Last HDD I used, 140 GB ? RPM, IDE ($40ish)
Some random PSU (Free, received from friend)
Linksys WRT54GS wireless router (I'd put OpenWRT on the damned thing, but the "updates are failed" :P)

I'm running NWN2 at near-full graphics. I had to settle for just x4 AA (as opposed to x8, I believe), and had to disable a couple options for shadows. Other than that, it'd just be cranking the resolution way up there.

LED's make the world go round. Or fans at least... but not really. It looks awesome!

I couldn't get it to appear very well in all of it's glorious glowy-ness, because the fan is only bright (lights up the whole case) when it's running, and half the time that fan doesn't need to run due to the settings I run my computer at and good ventilation, the heat doesn't get high enough to activate it.

Edit : That turned out much bigger than I had hoped, and the image re-sizer boxes don't seem to be working for me in edit.

My 7600 runs NWN2 on high texture and 1280x1024 without much trouble. Occasionally slows down on a few areas, but it does pretty well overall. I paid a grand total of $250 for my system too. I cheaped out and salvaged a couple pieces from an old computer (40 gig 5400 RPM HDD ftw) and paid $50 for a case/PSU combo. PSU died, so Newegg refunded all $50

7600 is faster than anything under an 8800 in the 8000 series. It's always been that way with the card generations.

Regardless this thread has been totally derailed. Why not just make a new one about videocards?

What happened to your system anyhow? Did you accidentally toss it into an incinerator or do you still have it around? If so, you could replace whatever's dead or at least scavenge pieces from it to get a cheap system. I'd be happy to give anyone tips on assembling a computer, and I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one.
