There was a priest of Tempus on our server at one point who had 8 charisma. He probably RP'd low charisma better than anyone I know. Girls would talk to him and he'd freeze up, getting all sweaty and worried. He didn't know how to act around people well or how to express himself at times. I gave him a ton of Exp for it.

Anyway, this thread isn't about charisma though. Wiz vs Sorceror. I personally like RP'ing a "brainiac" more than a "Beauty". So I'll usually play wizards.
Yes, that is how I see charisma as well. 'Force of personality' from Players Handbook to BG the game.

I liked sorcerers in nwn1 because you could switch any spell on level (which made sorcerers ridiculously versatile which I thought is the wizard's forte (fortay)) but in nwn2 I think wizards have it better. More feats, better prestige classes, what is not to like about wizards?

The ability to switch spells easily definitely helped; you could get rid of spells which were useful at early levels but obsolete at later levels such as stoneskin or the regular version of Mage Armour, and replace them with useful spells the usefulness of which never diminished or which had a level-scaled power.

You still had the same (pathetic) number of feats but I found that that you had just enough to get the really important core feats such as a spell focus in something, spell penetration, a couple of metamagic feats. But with powerful new feats available in nwn2 which characters with more choice in what they take will probably take (i.e. weapon focus in touch attacks, or that feat which buffs creatures you summon), perhaps sorcerers get left behind. I mean, I know that there are about a million things I could do with just one more feat on my build...(that is to say there's one thing I could do with one feat, but I've a million ideas about what that could be :\) Then again, I suppose every class probably gets that feeling at some point.

Probably the saddest thing about sorcs in nwn2 is that while they do have a certain advantage in spells-per-day and all, it's really not -that- much of an advantage; they only have one or two more casts per day that a wizard, which is not a massive advantage I've found.

Tehe. That was abundant in nwn1, in nwn2 you get to have a will save per round each time you are paralized, yay!

That was crazy in NWN1 - paralyzed for thirty or so rounds while you are pounded by horrid wiltings and such!

I say wizard. I like the study of magic and unlocking its hidden secretes, plus they are the ones that create new spells. Sorc always to me is a heavy damage dealer, just blow up stuff. Never very appealing to me. I also like the wide options of a wiz. 218 spells, I wanna have them all one day, cant do that with a sorc

I've been looking into it further and, especially if they take Red Wizard, it's pretty clear Wizards are more powerful for just about everything. Most of those I know don't even seem to have much trouble with the purported lack of casting flexibility.

Yeah, i've always loved having wizards because of the variety of spells. Just having lots of useless junk that i'd never use seemed appealing O_o. Like.. Dominate Person. I remember with my wizard most of the time i crammed the spellbook with pvp spells, every day use spells, and teamwork spells. Never, ever, used them :X

Plus, I find wizards have better use for spells in RP. Sorc is limited to what they get each level. Wizard can crack open their tome and you can use spells from the players hanbook ect. Kinda like what clerics can do, big advantage there.

Qft. Having access to a huge variety of spells is very handy for RP purposes.
