No, I can't see there being such a rush that a pre-order is necessary. I'll pick it up off the shelf.

Same here... going to see what everybody thinks, first.

Is it going to be a requirement for Sundren eventually? I'm assuming anyone who wants to play Sundren must have the same setup as the server in regards to Expansions. If that is the case I'm obviously picking it up.

Pre-orders are ancient relics. Only huge name games like Halo or WoW expansion packs sell out. For all other titles, they're marketing schemes. I'm going to get mine from Gamer's Gate, and you can download from there about 30 seconds after you pay for it. For my connection, that's quicker than driving to the store, and I save gas money.

On a related note, how long after the expansion pack is released will Sundren require it?

EDIT: I voted yes on instinct. If Gamer's Gate offers a pre-order, I'll take it, but it's really a moot point. Oh, and my question is better than Verraths.

I'll likely pick it up from the shelves as well, without preordering. I'm wondering if Sundren will require it, or be broken with it at the beginning?

I cant see it making the game any better really... if we see a lvl40 cap there could technically be Kama monks with 22 attacks per round: Thats something I certainly dont wish to see!

I dont see why they didnt keep it canon like NWN1 and have only Wizard/Sorceror attack progression into epic levels!

They already said the level cap will remain at 30 which is a relief to me, it makes more sense to focus on content for level ranges 1-30 rather than wasting time making content for insane epic levels into 40 which is basically demi-god status.

Agreed. As much as being a demi-god that rains hell down on level three goblins in the Spittlefist Caves would please me, I think that focusing on more feasible/PW consistent upgrades with fixes would be far better -- Granted, I expect this release to cause far more bugs than the cool stuff it will provide.

I'm also looking forward to this, because I expect it to be one of the last 3.5 games before 4E, which pisses me off to no end.

Personally I don't like 4E, it was the complexity of DnD that I found interesting, the fact that not every class is 'balanced' for superior combat abilities.

More choice is always a good thing in my books. Regardless that is getting a bit OT but nevertheless I am happy to stick with 3.5 for Sundren's setting.

Nah..When it's released, I'll just walk my happy arse down to the PX and buy it...Not many NWN2 players around here so I should be golden...Wont even install it till I'm sure that Sundren can support it.

Yeah, no point to preordering it and installing it immediately, I mean, it may or may not be readily prepared for Sundren as it is. I'll probably get it a few days after it comes out...

Last time I pre-ordered a game the jackasses put all there stock on the shelves and sold out before noon. Leaving me to wait like 3 days to get it.

so forget that I will wait and spend the dough on other stuff.

Comically enough just won mask of betrayer about a week ago.

                            Damn, accidently picked maybe.

No, I will definitely get it off the shelves. I will spend that $5 on a urine-sample sized cup of coffee from Starbucks.

I like to go buy it from the shop, it gives me the excuse to separate from the missus and get out of the cloths shops for 5 minutes.
