  • Do you think NWN2 is true to pen and paper D&D?

I think it is true enough, personally; and that Obsidian did a good job transferring the feel of the game to the computer game.

    Woman: "Tooth fairies? Hogfathers? Little--"

I'm afraid I've never played PnP, but I've heard Ob did a good enough job translating the rules into game mechanics. It's too bad some of the cooler classes, like theurges and warmages, didn't make it in.

Pnp has tons and tons and tons and tons of classes and prestige classes. I'd say over fifty or sixty at the least. I'm honestly surprised they had as many prestige classes at launch of nwn2 as they did after 2 expansions for nwn1. It bodes well for the expansions for nwn2 without a doubt.

I've never played PnP but I'm quite sure something like that just would never transfer over to a different media entirely the same.
The problem with the future is that it keeps turning into the present.

There's just some things that don't translate from PnP to a video game.
Especially when the video game in question has a multi-player that is not designed soley for small groups to sit around and have one lone DM to cater to the game for them.

That and there's so much more content in PnP to add that NWN2 doesn't even have yet.
There's a thin line between the definition of genius and insanity; I cross it all the time.

Nope, but I haven't seen anything better.
