Sometimes though, only 1 person from a faction could be online and the truth is, the server is a lot more fun when playing with other people, especially just sitting there RPing. I find farming and grinding rather boring and whenever I come on see SOSO has a single individual spread out over the areas.

As mentioned it looks like they are going to be sorting it, but it is also reliant on the player base to choose the meeting places. They usually just appear when people start to go there more often, not because the places are specifically designed for the purpose of adventurers meeting.

One of the first places I remember being a gathering zone was in the old designed port near the World transition. There was nothing of real interest there, just people always headed there when they logged on and people would be there. The devs have made plenty of zones for hanging out, Jimmys, Four Lanterns, half the city, seating areas across the whole maps. It's just were people decide to meet up which I feel seems to be lacking right now, not the amount of possible areas to meet up.

I think the primary lesson we've learned is folks tend to congregate at places that require as few clicks as possible. Single click world map access is the key. We have it coming next update I believe

Of course the old inns will be there if you ever want some place more private. Maybe we should start designating certain bars as "hangouts" for certain factions somehow. Like, soldiers tend to congregate at Four Lanterns. Hard to encourage that... maybe offer quests that start there... *mulls it over*

I picked a lot of things because, well, I think there are a lot of things that can be improved. I think what we've got is working pretty well, so here's some ideas.

Public IC Knowledge and Lore: Gather information checks anyone? Right now the skill is useless out of DM events, and even then it's rarely used. Sometimes it can be used in RP, but I've rarely seen anyone do so.

OOC Rules, Features, and Process Documentation: There are a few spell changes that need to be documented, such as changes to mage armor and material components. It'd also be nice to have a place in the wiki for patch notes. Even if it's just something short and simple like "Hotfix for item bugs."

New Social Areas: I'm really tired of going to the Viridale post in search of RP. I know people and some DMs don't like the idea of everyone congregating in a single place, but let's face it, that's human nature, and we can't change that. I fully welcome the coming changes.

Item Review and Creation: Kind of liberally interpreting this, but it would be nice to see some better items available for non-faction members. I know that factions are supposed to be a big deal, and the stores are an incentive, but perhaps there could be a quest series that unlocks better stores. Just throwing the idea out there.

Create New Quests: I know that this is tough to script, but it'd be nice to have more multiple-ending quests. Also, with a lot of the current quests it's hard to tell what alignment shifts you're going to get. Chaotic and evil especially are often hard to discern. For instance, stealing or conning people out of money is a component in quests, and sometimes you get chaotic points while other times you get evil points. One solution would be to color code responses. For instance, gold = lawful, blue = chaotic, silver = good, red = evil. I'm not sure on chaotic, but you get the point.

More Traps and Locks: I think we're fine on traps, personally. A lot of the traps are absolutely brutal. The only problem I see is that it's easy for a spellcaster to summon a creature to trigger it or use energy immunity. Locks are another matter. First, we have keys. They're good in that they prevent mages from using knock, but they also prevent lockpicking. Normal locks are subject to knock, which basically makes any investment in lockpicking useless. I don't know, is there any way to make containers immune to knock without using keys?

Also, crafting? Am I to understand it's getting a second overhaul?

Thats what I went for! I find rogues are often seen as comic relief or just big hitters for the most part and not for their skill and cunning (which is how I believe they were intended!). most rogues have brains as well as flanking damage

Just so you know, we are taking steps (or have taken steps) to address the key areas you voted for.
            • Public IC Knowledge and Lore:
Peridan has been helping to migrate information from our Lore private staff section to the Wiki. This is a work in progress. I have other folks who have expressed interest in this as well.
            • New Social Areas:
Second Wind Inn and all those roads. Props to Maevan and Cornuto!
            • Create More Faction Reputation Gain Methods:
You can now vouch for others in your facton. PCs can give other PCs reputation on their own.
I'll likely add some repeatable quests as well. More importantly, I want to give folks more things to do with their reputation besides getting better gear. Deploying troops, directing funds... these are possible with DM intervention, but hard to manifest in the module. We'll see what the future holds.
            • More Dynamic Content:
There is a new sticky post in the DM forums. When they run events where they feel the module should be changed based upon player actions, they'll post there and we'll try to incorporate it.

What about just modifying the AI scripts? Right now NPC guards will attack any PC that attacks another PC. Could it be changed so that if a PC Legion member with appropriate rank attack a non-legion PC the guards will instead attack the PC Legion's target?

Or at least change it so that if a Legion PC attacks non Legion, guards won't intervene but won't help, unless the PC is of an officer rank?

I do love all the new changes, however! Especially the Second Wind area!

More Dungeons...the name of the game is Dungeons & Dragons. Can never have enough dungeons.

Quests...can never have enough of those either.

Dynamic Content...anything to enhance RP and realism in the game.
