  • What Needs the Most Attention?

This is a big softball question -- feel free to bat it out of the park

We're now out of beta officially. This doesn't mean we're done growing -- it means our core is in-place. What I'd like to know is, what areas does the Sundren community want us to turn to next?

Now, by "us," I mean me and the other contributers. GBX, Saulus, and Maevan will be handling much of the high end workload. They are true experts that have big projects and visions in-progress already. But, there are plenty of smaller projects that deserve attention, too. So, please limit your thoughts to lower-level dev work.

So how bout it? Here's a list of some areas that we can turn to. Feel free to vote for more than one, but don't go overboard!

There is I was in the process of typing it up when you replied!

BTW if there's something else you want to add that isn't in the list, just reply here. Remember this is poll is focused on lower-level dev work though. Thanks--

        More traps and locks!

Rogues feel kind of useless in most dungeons... need to add in some challenges that Clerics can't buff their way through, fighters can't hack their way through, and wizard's can't zap their way through.

I'm sold on this. Traps and locks have my vote.

              My little list:

Public IC Knowledge and Lore: in the relatively short time I've been playing here, there have already been several occasions of conflicting information. Consistency in the game world is crucial for some things, so I'd really like to see this cemented nicely. As an example, it was apparently understood there was a treaty between the lizards and Sestra, then there suddenly wasn't and, which is more, never had been.

New Social Areas: Right now, the most active social gathering place is the Viridale Forest border camp. Which makes almost no sense, in character. We need a tavern people will actually use.

Item Review and Creation: The femur bone sold at the Corps de Grace still drives me bonkers. Ilmater's guidance my ass! Also, the faction stores are sometimes laughably uneven.

More Dynamic Content: Nothing is more important than feeling the world is being impacted by decisions.
Mari: A hin with little purpose.

Angelise Bryont: Paladin and Dawnbringer of Lathander, Master of Radiance, freelance member of the Arbiter's Alliance. (On Hold)

I'm fully on board with defining the IC knowledge further and making adjustments that allow all the DM's to have the same level of information when determining the behavior of NPC's and such. I know that everyone has some level of expertise in certain areas more than others, but I think by summarizing the main points of information further for both the DM's and the players, we can expect to see a more expedient event type in the future.

That is to say, I know the DM's know their stuff. But having little things like jurisdiction issues, or faction behavior issues in some events because either the DM or the player doesn't know all they could (within IC knowledge) makes things run a little slower.
                  Characters:
Peridan Twilight, one-eyed dog of the Legion, deceased.
Daniel Nobody, adventurer and part time problem solver.

                  [DM] Poltergeist :
If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge an intermediate deity's unbridled fury.

You asked. Besides which, it would technically fall into three categories:

Item Review and Creation: It is obviously item review.

Public IC Knowledge and Lore: Bringing the shop items in line with the apparent ethos of the Corps.

                      and

More Dynamic Content: As I know at least two characters tried to have it removed!

But, you know, whatever. It's only my sense of agency as a player. *Shrug* *Shrug shrug* WHATEVER.

New social areas all the way. It gets really old logging in and seeing everyone spread across the server soloing, it makes it very difficult to get involved in anything any more.

The good news is, there is indeed something right around the corner for EXACTLY this purpose. DMs also would love a central location for socializing -- much easier for starting events! (not to say everyone HAS to socialize there, but you get the drift )
