    Connection Problems Resolved (Webstats may be down)

    Well folks after a lot of investigation I have narrowed down the issues people have been experiencing to one of the database servers for Sundren.

    To fix the issue I've since swapped the database servers being used for webstats and the Sundren server. The good news? Well it seems things are fine on the server now, the bad news? The database server I'm using for the webstats/player options is slowly dying on me (and it's just too slow to handle the load) as it keeps losing track of stats.

    So just to note, webstats will likely be down because of this until I can remedy it with a new server.

    In short I do want to replace it with another server (something better) but whether that happens or not is entirely up to you folks. I have some money to put towards it but being a student there's only so much I can spare.

    If you can donate towards it, then great... If you can't -- hey I understand, and the important thing is that the server is working great and people are having fun on it.

        Let us know how close we are to helping you out with this Saulus, I gave what I could today, but I'll see what I can do to get some more.

            Saulus,
            I haven't checked connection yet but you ARE the man! Out of curiosity, ever consider using a virtual machine (e.g. VMware) to help with redundancy/load balancing? Not sure how your setup is set up, but I was just curious.

              If I had a SAN or NAS box virtualization might be viable but I'm not running a multi-thousand dollar server operation.

              Ideally if I could afford it I would like to simply buy a PS3 and use Linux on it, they are extremely powerful cheap servers.

                Well, I'm certainly willing to donate when I have the extra scratch lying around, I've fast fallen in love with Sundren :P

                  Yep, I just threw in my share. Hopefully enough people will donate that you'll have some money left over to cover the headache medicine you've no doubt had to buy.

                    Well when Sundren needed 500 CAD, we raised in about 72 hrs, I hope we can do as well when it's only 200, dig deep people
