New Router Installed!

I finally received the new router today via carrier. To my surprise they upgraded me up to the next model as the other one was out of stock. So I suppose it just barely makes up for all the crap I went through with DLink.

Hopefully this should resolve most, if not ALL issues connecting to the server. Since installing it I can already tell you that I noticed a big difference on my end already.

Yep, happens a lot on tech support actually. You bug them, bug them, until they're annoyed and become physically ill at the sound of your voice, and eventually you get to someone high enough to either solve your problem by sending you a replacement or upgrading your existing product. But by that time you've wasted a good portion of your life sitting listening to music from fifty years ago and customer service reps who are still not fluent in English. Yes, it happens. No, it's never worth it.

Server hit 20+ folks and the problems kicked back in.

Good news! However wished to report that I'm still experiancing connection problems (stopping at 1/8th on load in, lagging out on transition).

You can really notice the change in load times and stuff with the new router, methinks. Haven't had many connection issues but I am having a few tonight. They'll probably be gone in no time

I was still experiencing some pretty nasty lag...then i disabled the far shadows. Forgot to turn them back off. >.> Always something worth trying.

I haven't had any issues, but that's not to say there aren't any. I haven't logged in yet when there are 20+ people online, but I've had a lot fewer crashes and zero lag problems. I'd say give it 2-3 days before complaining of connection problems.

l hate to interrupt everyone's complaining (lol) but I've noticed a significant improvement in stability and loading times already. Connected first time and had a nice, stable session with smooth transitions. Kudos to Saulus' router supplier (oh, and Saulus for setting it all up of course)

I can confirm that all the connection problems are gone until the server reaches 20+ then they return.

They are very weird problems though ... I'll lag out with Character A and try to log back in only to be stuck on the login screen. I can try like 50 times and I will always be stuck but if I log in with Character B it logs in right away with no problems.

I know a decent amount about networks but not everything, this however does seem like something more than just a network problem. Perhaps some sort of dumb ass Obsidian fail safe? but then it still wouldn't explain why it doesn't happen until 20+ characters ... hmm.

Well lets just say i'm stumped :P

The problems have not ceased for me. When there are more than 20 people online, I get stuck in the loading bar for a ridiculous amount of time, eventually either timing out, crashing, or finally getting online after 30 minutes. This hasn't become any more or less frequent since the new router, and it seems multiple people still endure this - and I, for one, have a great computer with great internet performance. I don't think it's on my end.

Were reverting a hack today. were going to see if that fixes it. If not we'll try something else.
