  • Effective Immediately -- Players caught using overrides may be booted

Overrides are meant to be used for testing only.

They are not a place to install files for a PW or mod. If you have a PW or any other kind of NWN2 content that goes in this folder, then I wouldn't trust it. Anyone who understands how to mod this game will not use the folder.

Any other server or place you play on that uses this folder, may very will likely cause crashes and all other kinds of problems.

Players caught using overrides on Sundren may be booted, and if they ignore warnings of renaming the override folder to avoid this, they may be temporarily banned. I think with the frequency of crashing lately people will understand how serious this is. It's not a joke, rename the folder.

The folder I'm talking about is default located in My Documents/Neverwinter Nights2/override

You can either delete all files in this folder, or if you DO want to keep your overrides to play on another server (by the way why don't you tell whatever other server who uses overrides that you play on that they need to learn how to use haks), then simply rename this folder to something else when you play on Sundren. IE "override_bak".

Custom GUIs, or anything else you have installed can contribute to the issue. Especially with how often Obsidian updates and patches things. A simple UI override you have may be affecting your stability, and the servers.

    That is all.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Yes, not only will it cause instability to the sever you are on, it'll cause instability to your own game client and when loading areas because of the conflicting 2da/ whatever is in your override that doesn't match the severs.
    Thanks guys.

*Cans a random override file lingering in the folder unseen*

Good thing I happened to just reinstall NWN2 and don't have anything but Sundren.

I had a ton of stuff in there like a month ago.

I vaguely remember armorrulestats.2da being sundren related, but am I wrong?

Yea, that is the same thing I have in my Override folder. I deleted it though.

That file needs to be server-side only.

Well you know I found that file too, and took it out of my override. But then when I went shopping for armor for my new character...I couldn't tell what AC anything had! It was all blank space where the armor stat info should be. So that file seems kind of necessary, apparently.

It isn't. Deleting it will not adversely affect you, the only case you may be experiencing is that serverside it's forcing it which is why it was missing it. Even if you deleted it again it's not a huge issue because Obsidian will be fixing that file to work in a hak in the next patch or possibly hotfix.

In another thread someone was recommending the use of the 'Less Obtrusive Spells' mod from NWVault, which I believe has to reside in the override directory.

                        Is this mod off limits?

Any kind of override, doesn't really matter what it is. If you're using something like that it's better to be safe than sorry.

Does this also take into account character creation-related overrides such as those which enable more voices and the color palette?
