  • The Sundering of a Lifetime! Pt. II

    News quickly spreads around Sundren.

Imperatu Verinus, general of the Sundren Legion, has been denounced by the Arbiters as a traitor and sympathizer of the Veritas Rebellion. No Watch or Legion officers have issued the order for his arrest or removal however, as Verinus and Mikhail Veritas, heir to Vivin Veritas and current leader of the rebellion, continue to war together against the Bloodmaim that have already destroyed so much of the valley.

Many wonder whether this is a prelude to a coup d'état, though the Imperatu himself has said nothing about the Arbiters. He has been regularly seen in secret talks with True Hands of Mundus, the organization's most politically powerful members. Although both towers are working with the Imperatu to some unseen end, there is a general malaise about Sinistrum, the black tower of the Left.

Bloodmaim forces, scattered after their crushing defeat at the battle of the Viridale, have been breaking off into scattered bands and raiding villages and towns. With the orcs so disorganized, Imperatu Verinus has issued a call to arms to all women and men of the valley capable of holding a spear or blade. He has voiced his understanding of the need to stay and defend one's home, yet underscores the greater need to drive the Bloodmaim from Sundren forevermore.

Legion, Triumvirate, and other goodly forces have been organizing squads of soldiers, each teamed with a Scholii or Hand initiate, as the Magi and above have all suddenly disappeared. There are many questions in the air, but one certainty:

The war will end today, one way or the other.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

When Sile hears the news, she just loudly whistles and glances down at her stinking boot obviously unable to remove all the horse poo from it. With a slightly disapproving shaking of her head she just utters to herself: "... Blackwell, I don't here the name Blackwell ...", glances at the poo again, "... Blackwell!", with a heavy sigh she gives the purge yet another try.
