Sundren's own Ventrilo server is up and running! This is voice-chat, for those unaware of what Ventrilo is. The server is on paid hosting provided by Godbeast, and uptime should be steady.

Microphone stand with a shure beta 58A vocal microphone, fit into a mixer and a noise filter. Remember to use XLR plugs.

Yeah.. i could actually do that.. i gotta about 3 100 dollar microphones... but eh.. don't wanna bring an 24 channel mixer to my bedroom.. I could sing for everyone!!

I've always found that headset/microphone combos are best of online games, that way your sound doesn't bleed into your voice convos, which can be very unsettling and annoying for other people on the voice channel.

Then I can play some roger wilco FpS game like counterstrike or something.. hahah Id by Battlefield 2142 but eh.. I wanna get my second video card. have duel 7950's

I've used voip for NWN before both as a player and DM. Sometimes folks get off topic, but usually if everyone agrees on the ground rules it works really well. Most of the time its tactics (you go left, I'll go right) or calls for help (I'm hurt) or my personal favorite "RUN AWAY!" Which just takes too dang long to type in battle.

As a DM I used it to add colour and make NPC conversations more interesting.
