I found this content on another site I check now and then, you guys may find it useful for underground areas. My Dwarf would love to see major underground areas!
RWS would like to announce that first of the Deep Environments Tilesets (Deep Halls) has been completed. Deep Environments is a collection of underground tilesets under development at Robinson Workshop, This tileset is the first of several releases under the Deep environments title.
We are tying up some loose ends and preparing to release the set. Which I would expect to see released this weekend or early next week. This will be a BETA release. I say BETA for several reasons.
Beta because:
1> NWN2 still doesnt fully support custom tilesets. In other words you will have to place a few files in your override directory for the tilesets to function. There should be no worry about damaging other Mods as we have padded our 2da lines further down. If you however have downloaded some of the expanded Tilesets available on the vault you will have to choose between the two or manually merge the 2da's.
2> We will have yet to fully test the set for any problems. We have a forum set up for your input on anything you may find that needs our attention.
A final release in regular hak form will be submitted when NWN2 allows the tileset and tiles.2da files to be read from within a hak file.
We will also be releasing a (very) simple module with the tileset so that you can see fairly quickly what is possible with the tileset.
Deep Halls:
The Deep Halls tileset was developed to provide a more voluminous space for below ground environments, its intent is to give a feel of a dwarven made space, but by leaving out the more obvious dwarven motifs, to provide a tileset that can encompass a number of different stories and origins. This is a large set complete with pit tiles and special connector tiles to seamlessly join with the OEI Caves and mines tilesets.
Features:
Halls;
There are a few different types of Deep halls that you can build with this set.
Columnar Halls:
Soaring rock ceilings supported by columns, these are the standard halls in the deep, even still there is alot of room for merchants and construction.
Open Halls:
Supported by massive stone beams and coffering, these halls are massive their ceilings even higher than that of the columnar halls. they are impressive indeed.
Chasms;
There are often great chasms to be found in the underground realm, but the builders have incorporated these into their city designs, graceful bridges over dark chasms and cold underground rivers. These chasms often abut columnar halls.
Placeables;
There will be a few placeables included with this set, a specific designed light sconce, and of course an exterior entry placeable will be included. More placeables may be added before release and we certainly might add placeables that are specific to this tileset in the future.
We also have a few meta tiles in the set.
Keep your eyes peeled here and our forums for screenshots from the final set.
