Is that applicable? Plus, Josef (which is whom I am speaking of) only has Celestial as a bonus language coz of a glitch I announced aloooonnnggg time ago (He has a 14 int). The language screen popped up suddenly and I clicked too fast, giving me a (BLANK) extra language...so then I just picked Celestial, coz of obvious reasons.
Not the place to defend a language selection DMs can talk to you either from PMs, Help forum, or in game. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone when I do this, except one guy who isn't playing here anymore and would run around in circles talking draconic as a fighter. I'm pointing a finger at him for sure.

Since we're on the topic of languages:
When selecting my starting languages, I accidentlly clicked the same language twice and as a result only know 3 extra languages when I should know 4. So if this hasn't already been fixed, it might be something to look into.

Also, for those of us who made the mistake, is there a way to get our missing language?

I think the language selection does need a do-over, and DMs should randomly check people's PC's for RP'd languages.

Plus, i'm sick of everyone knowing elven, so if you take a lot of languages away, everyone will! I don't know too much about this, but i'd hope MORE languages would be implemented, as well as having RP restrictions on others.
Heh, i guess my characters are deleted, now. Updating char list soon!

I might just remove extended language selections all together. People get racial base and common. Then from there they have to convince a DM they should know more, or if they've been in play, that someone taught them the language while they have been playing.

I dare say people in the real world with 16 intellect don't automatically know 3 languages beyond English.

Something I've seen elsewhere is no "extra" languages besides racial and Common at character creation. The PC then has to find a trainer for that language somewhere in the world. And they're not all that easy to find! Only that way can the PC learn that specific language, to the INT maximum.

O-M-G I just got a great idea. Why not make languages like infernal/abyssal/Celestial or whatever you think is an ackward language, and have it count for 2 common languages!

                ...just an idea.

Well the problem is, among characters, 12+ Intellect is common. So it trivializes languages.

Like previously said, I'm sure elves are frustrated when they try to talk privately with their homies and -every- adventurer jumps in the conversation with their "Chosen at creation" elven, simply because they could. I've read alot of your backstories, you don't all know Elven

On plain Forgotten Realms the elven language is interestingly very common. A lot more than I thought af first It figures in almost 20 regions as a bonus language for humans and even in 2 regions as bonus language for dwarves

Don't you dare remove language-selection all together!
I think that's one of the coolest features of Sundren.

                      I say...
Abyssal, Aquan, Auran, Celestial, Ignan, and Infernal should only be available to clerics.

Orcish, Elvish, and all that should stay for current intelligence rules: that's how it's supposed to be.
Languages aren't really that hard to learn, in real life, if you're smart and dedicated.

But, I do agree on the higher DC checks.

Well, I havn't done anything yet, I just been thinking on it and considering what I think should be the case. Is common considered a free language?

                          Yes, I think so.
Common is free for all, Elvish is free for elves, and so on.

Yup. Common, Regional and/or Racial. Dunno if you put in regional ones though

                              That would be interesting...
