  • Server up and running again. Run your updater

The server is working again and there's a new update up, so run your Sundren Updater to go get it. UI and world map are functioning again, sadly the lag issues have not been resolved. (you must delete your Sundren campaign folder before patching. If you already patched without it, remove the Sundren_v68.hak file from your /hak folder, delete the campaigns/Sundren folder and rerun the updater)

Here's a small change list for today's patch:

    Experience gain (& kill gold):
    - Only enemies that would normally grant XP will award gold when killed
    - Higher level characters (9+ and 15+) can gain small amounts of XP off of enemies four and five CR under their level respectively (as opposed to the 3 CR under for level 8 and lower)
    - PC's can keep gaining XP beyond their maximum level provided they currently have less than their highest XP ever attained. This will only be noticeable if you've somehow lost experience and are trying to gain it back.
    - Your highest ever attained experience value can be seen on your character statistics. This only starts working after you've saved your character at least once
    - The formula for awarding kill gold has been changed to grant higher levels more, and lower levels less than previously. Variances are also less wonky.
    - Creatures that do not logically carry treasure with them will not drop gold anymore when killed. This includes the following creature types:
Animals, Vermin, Beasts, Magical Beasts, Elementals, Constructs and Incorporeal beings
Instead of gold, these creatures grant 20% more experience when killed than usual

    Creatures:
    - Slitherscale Hexers no longer summon bears, but may now cast Mass Bear's Endurance on their group

    Miscellaneous:
    - Added languages to Gray Orcs and Yuan Ti

So? does that mean if you achieve like say 16 through xp rewards and loose some xp due to doing something dumb or lag accident. You can regain the xp to get back to sixteen through like the ticker?

No, the ticker only works up until 15 still. You can only get the lost xp back from kill xp.

I'm a little bit confused, is this something everyone needs to do or just certain people who made some kind of mistake in the updating NWN or Sundren Updater process somewhere along the road?

Everyone should delete the campaign folder, else old unused files will be stuck behind. Those who have patched without properly removing it first will have to remove it still, and remove the mentioned .hak as well (else the patch won't run).

Just to make sure, I'm going to ask a relatively green question, and this campaign folder you speak of, is it this?

Some people have way too much time on their hands.
