  • a reaction to the DM boycott

    HELLS yeah!

the exigo campfire is my least favorite place on sundren.

i spend a MINIMUM amount of time there, and there are plenty of others like me. we might not be the highest level but that should not matter, right.

that said, its nice to know you can always find somebody there... but the "carebearing" as you so eloquently put it does not out weigh this benefit. if you're looking for open rp and socializing turn search on and go where your character would go.

In nwn1 there was a fire in the main city that folks hung out in. Later folks hung out at a fire in a swamp. I mean rain is one thing but being stung by bugs all the time.

Favorite hang out was a bar, had an outside pub. So you could go inside and sit or stay outside and drink sing etc.

What the hell is it with adventurers and camp fires, you can't get beer there, you can't get warm and you can't get dry.

This has all been a good thing.

At first It was a little difficult to get some RP, so I just went off soloing for a bit but now everyone is getting good at randomly appearing in "Todays star venue!" I'm really getting to see lots of Sundren for a change.

I'm happy to see that people are using Exigo less and less for socializing since this was requested. I'm trying to reward folks when I see them, by planting rumors from bartenders and giving XP cookies.

Well, this measure was good, when all the people left the camp and the adventurers started to do more adventuring things, we got a lot of events, personally I was involved in... 4 or 5 in 2 days (more than I got on 5 months of Exigo Chatting)

Precisely It's like our birthday as DMs because we can involve people in plots without having to drag the plot to them.

I would like to humbly add that a Druid Glade hidden deep inside the woods and supposedly hard to find is as unlikely a place for casual meetings as the Exigo Unless you're a Druid or Ranger, or affiliated with one.

It rains just as much there...

Yolanda Brown - If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. But unless life also gives you water and sugar, your lemonade is going to suck.

I fully agree with you Verrath. It's always irked me that people sit around in the druids glade, casually conversing about knitting, or whatever it is they talk about. Keeper needs to perma-banning them city-dwelling chumps.

People head to where the traffic is. Especially on a server with a fairly low population. No matter how much people want to avoid metagaming or populating areas that would most likely not be populated IC, people want to play with other people. Otherwise we'd all be playing single player, alone.

I understand that people flocking to certain places doesn't necessarily make IC sense, but this is a GAME that we want to play with each other. 9 people standing in 9 separate areas equals fun for nobody.

I agree with this. With the amount of casters with Sending, DMs really never had to announce a boycott of Exigo TP, tbh. All they have to do is find a caster wandering around and start up with them. In no time, Exigo will move to said character.

But its just another means to the same end. Its good to see both sides happy about the outcome.

I agree with the DMs on this. A trading post is supposed to go there and trade, not to have chat under the rain 24hs a day.

Taverns are being very nice palces to go now.

I also agree with V on the druid's glade matter. Perhaps some ranks on survival to find the place would be nice to be needed. That would also force people to use that potion shop in Sundren, and not in the Glade.

People will go where people are.

When we aren't thinking consciously about it, people tend to lump up at the easy-access points from the world map.

You are all doing a great job, putting effort and thought into where you socialize.

I have to point out that Waukeen would beg to differ on this one.

Not that I play much anymore but it sounds like a nice change nonetheless.
